Raindrops fell on the windows at 3 a.m. a cold breeze filled the mansion. It was calm and quiet with only the sounds of the raindrops being heard. Chaston woke up in an empty bed and noticed he wasn't in his room. There was water and medication on the pedestal beside him to help his future hangover. He sat up and took a tablet with a glass of water.
The room was dark. He saw Carly seated close to her window looking outside. She looked to be deep in thought, he was concerned. He got out of bed and walked over to her. Her eyes were blood shot red and she looked like she'd been crying.
Chaston sat beside her, trying to conjure up the right words to say to her. She looked at him, looked back out the window and sighed.
"You know" she said with a raspy voice "I get nightmares about what happened, I still can't understand why Brandon would do what he did to me" she said with tears welling up in her eyes. "I keep thinking what if you hadn't showed up, I would've been gone without even having time to say goodbye to my loved ones. It hurts, it hurts so bad because I trusted him, I fell for him too quickly and I shouldn't have. I completely ignored the efforts on others because I was so focused on him. I regret meeting him everyday. I just can't deal with this anymore."
She sounded lifeless, it pained Chaston that she felt this way and he felt guilty because he couldn't be there to protect her all the time. She'd looked so different from how he usually sees her, the ghost of LèCarla Davids. Her eyes had no emotion, it was focused on one place only, her blinking was slow.
He wrapped his arms around her and she laid her head on his chest, immediately breaking down. He kissed her forehead and rubbed her arm in a comforting way. He didn't know that she went through this, he should've known though seeing she lived in his house. He was so focused on Genessa that he had no reguard for Carly any more. Her promised to protect her but how could he have when he wasn't always there for her.
Carly got up and went to the adjoining bathroom situited in her room. Chaston sighed, worried about her health and well-being. He got up and sat on the foot of her bed, looking down at the floor. Seeing that he was asleep in Carlys room means that Genessa wasn't home. His mind wasn't really focused on that but more on Carly.
He heard the tap running and being closed she took some time before coming out. They looked at each other, with eyes saying more than words ever could, that was their way only way of communication in that moment. She walked over to him with their eyes still locked at stood infront of him.
He placed his hands on her thighs, while she placed her hands on his shoulders and closed her eyes. Her skin was so soft under his fingertips, he loved how it felt. She straddled his lap and immediately their lips locked. Anticipation heavy in their air as everything within them colided.
