Hiding The Alpha

Kole POV

10 years ago was when we first met. I was in the room where all the toys and children’s games were when she walked in with Luna Danielle.

I immediately had a crush on her since she was so pretty. Being a 5 year old, I didn’t know how I could express it. Also, I was with my friends Andrew and Carlos. We were still stuck on the ‘girls have cooties’ thing, but I wouldn’t mind getting cooties from her.

“Kole! Come on, it’s your turn!” Carlos said impatiently. We were playing Candy Land and he was just upset that he was so close to winning before he picked up the card with the Gingerbread Man on it and had to move all the way back to the beginning. I picked up a card and saw two purple squares and made my turn before turning back to the girl with our Luna.

As Luna and the mystery girl walked over to us, the guys looked up. “Hey Carlos, Kole, Andrew.”

“Hi Luna Danielle.” We said in unison, my eyes still glued on the girl looking down at the ground.

“Can Katie join you guys, too? I have pack business to take care of and can’t watch her.”

“Girls have cooties!” Andrew yelled out.

“Yeah, we don’t want cooties. Isn’t that right Kole?”

I moved my gaze from the girl named Katie to Andrew and Carlos then to Luna. I sighed. “Guys, we should let her play the next game with us. Luna said that she was busy. Plus how jealous will everyone be when they find out we got to help Alpha and Luna?”

They nodded. “Fine. She can stay.” Her head came up and I saw her pretty face and smiled.

We played for about two hours before Andrew and Carlos had to leave.

“Thank you for letting me play with you guys.” She smiled at me, showing her missing tooth.

“You’re welcome.” I told her. “Wanna be my best friend?” I asked. She nodded her head furiously and stood up.

“YES!”

Ever since then we have been the closest people ever. I don’t know why I was so attracted to her. I even had my first kiss with her. I came out of my trance and looked up to see 14, 15 tomorrow, year old Katie running towards me.

“Kole!” She yelled jumping in my arms for a hug. I smiled and let her go.

“What’s up?”

“My birthday is tomorrow!”

“I know!” “Katie!” Her mom and our Luna yelled. “Time for bed! You have a big day tomorrow!”

She said goodbye to me and went to her room as I headed for mine. I had already turned 15 and shifted, which is something that surprised everyone. My wolf was anxious for tomorrow and I didn’t know why. I shrugged it off and went to bed.

I heard a scream of pain that jerked my up from my dream.

‘MATE! GO FIND MATE!’ my wolf yelled.

I checked the time and saw it was exactly 12:00 midnight. I ran towards the sound and came to Katie’s room.

Why would my mate be in Katie’s room? Alpha Quinn ran in, pushing me aside, and tried to calm her down.

What’s happening in there?

Suddenly the screams got worse and when I walked in, I saw Katie struggling in Quinns grip. He put he back down and It seems as though she calmed, slightly.

When he tried to pick her up again, hearing her bones crack, she screamed like she was being murdered. I growled at this.

“MINE!” My wolf yelled, taking over. Alpha Quinn growled as I came closer to her, but my wolf just became more infuriated.

“Back up, Kole!” He yelled but my wolf growled even more.

I ran to her bed and picked her up, much to Alpha’s distaste. She calmed down and grabbed on to me.

That’s when I felt the spark.

No, Katie isn’t my mate. I refuse to let this happen.

I have to help her. But I don’t want her to be my mate.

I was torn between my wolf and my wants and decided that this isn’t the time to be thinking.

I picked her up and ran to the woods, holding her as much as I could to ease the pain of her first shift.

Minutes later, an all-black wolf stood in front of me. “Think of your human side to shift back.” I told her.

I took off my shirt as she did that and gave it to her since I knew she would be naked.

I looked her in her eye as she put together the pieces and found out I was her mate. Before she could say anything I looked her in eye and said, “I reject you as my mate.” Then turned back to the pack house and going to find my grilfriend Linda, needing to get Katie off my mind.
