The Doctor sighed to himself, then with a turn up of his feelings, grabbed some stencils, preparing to work on that hole he was planning to repair. He chopped up some cables, glued another, destroyed and cursed with words only he could understand. Because "repairing" was one of his hobbies, and anyone who traveled aboard the TARDIS knew it. Even Susan, his granddaughter.
"Well, those are some fancy words of wisdom." Shereen laughed approaching the console. "What's up?"
"Well, you know. Repairing this and that. I am sure you wouldn't like reading in whole darkness in the library, would you?"
"Then, you could read to me." she sat on the jump seat crossing her arms. "Don't worry. I won't tell anyone you don't know how to."
"Oi!" the Doctor raised his head, only to hit it against the console. "Ouch!"
"You see? That's what I'm talking about. Won't understand why she likes you."
"Who?"
"Rose. It's obvious she does, and you know it."
"Nah." he shook his head. "We're only good friends, that's all. And besides, I am a Timelord."
"What should that even mean?"
"Doesn't matter." he stood up, hands in his pockets. "Tell you what, why won't you come here and help me."
"Huh? Me?"
"No. My other self meta-crisis. Of course you. Do you see anyone else in this room?"
Shereen stepped besides him, and with a confused look, she watched the Timelord do his thing. After he was done, his hand quickly grabbed hers, and placed it on a lever.
"Hold that down there." the man instructed with alacrity. "Okay, this is how it'll work. I'll be here, pressing on this button until the screen pops up a circle with three lines. After you hear the word..'Geronimo', you pull that up and press the red one over there."
"This one?" she reached with her finger a button.
"Now..you just blew us up."
"This one."
"That's banana juice."
"Banana juice? Why in the heavens..?..No. Don't let me ask. This one?" she pointed to another.
"Yes. That one. Okay." he prepared himself, specs on and hammer in his hand. "Are you ready?"
Rose flung open her eyes, just as planned, two hours later. She lifted herself up, and entered the bathroom, where she took a quick cold shower and prepared to exit. She even ended up using way more make-up than she always did before, but still looked good.
She chose a normal outfit, then stepped outside her room; an arcane feeling falling upon her skin. Trying to ignore it, the girl made her way towards the console room, from where loud laughs and giggles reached her ears.
Rose stopped for a moment, astonished, and peeked from a corner the scene.
"Hold it there, I tell you!" the Doctor exclaimed grinning.
His front body, pressed against the back of Shereen's, was the first one to pop up into her eyes, urge of jealousy striking through her mind. Was he..teaching her to fly the TARDIS?
One of his hands, laying on the woman's hip, the other one, pointing at the screen. His face was mostly touching her neck while he instructed the steps; he looked very diligent and elated.
"But I am! I am holding it! Stop mocking me!"
"No, you are not!" he teased. "Shereen Black! Hold down that lever!"
