Chapter 5
Because of the fact that there was so many of them the Salzburg crew had to split apart to fit into the elevators. John, Abel, Fern, Rick, Tomas and Stina took the first elevator, which was equipped with a radio that was playing Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart which Rick was humming along to in perfect tune.
"Are you gonna do that all the way to the room?!" Fern snapped.
"What?It's a good song."
"He's right." John agreed.
"I don't care. His humming is annoying me."
"Oh get over it loser." Rick teased. "You should respect me more, or else you won't get any of this." Rick gestured to his face before putting his hands to his hips.
Fern snickered "How about I kick your ass off the penthouse balcony?"She was struggling to keep her composure as Rick started posing as if he were a superhero.
"What happened to that scared little girl I met a few months ago?"John was laughing but on the inside he was concerned for the girl who had experienced the rapid changes that occur in Salzburg for the very first time.
"I guess I was just nervous to be surrounded by new people." Fern calmed down and lowered her head.
John felt something was going on with her. While most people would see John as the care free party guy he appears to be, he really is as mart guy and a perceptive one as well. He also wondered why Haran was acting out so horrendously. Getting all defensive and hardly speaking to anyone. He knew it wasn't just because Erin was sick and if it was John didn't understand why, he was sure Erin would be fine in a few weeks or so.
The elevator came to a sudden stop and a loud ding erupted from the speaker. Rick immediately rushed towards the balcony, checking first to make sure the lunatic Fern wasn't actually going to push him off the side. The view was stunning, you had an amazing line of sight of the Milan Cathedral.
The room itself was just as beautiful; large black leather couches were placed in front of a flat screen LCD TV set up with surround sound speakers. The kitchen was a bright orange which contrasted with the dark green walls of the living room and this was made even worse by the fact that its open concept. The second elevator arrived with the rest of the gang. Tomas was all fired up and testing out all the equipment in the kitchen. Stina was jumping on the couches and Abel was already passed out in a lounge chair. The second elevators crew walked into the living room with mixed reactions.
"Man you guys made yourselves at home quick." Duncan sighed as he set down a suitcase
"Food? Please. Please food." Leona dropped to her hands and knees.
"Well I don't have many ingredients but I could whip up some grilled cheese sandwiches. It's not traditionally Italian but I am using mozza cheese." Tomas smiled and clasped a frying pan from the row of hanging pots and pans over the island separating the living room from the kitchen.
"Sure I could eat." Marvin walked over to the kitchen to watch Tomas.
"Well first things first we need to figure out the sleeping arrangements. I propose that I share a bed with Fern so that I can keep an eye on her..." Rick was joking but he held a very serious face.
"As if!" Fern spat.
John just snickered and wrote down a sheet of paper with sleeping arrangements. "How does this look to everybody?"
The list read: Feira and Abel, Tom and Stina, Leona and Fern, Marvin and Duncan, and John and Rick.
"Why does Rick get to share with you?" Abel frowned.
