The lost group of teenagers idled around in Rick's living room. Wondering what was next, well, most of them did. Haran didn't stay long enough for it to be considered idling.
"I'm going to go check on Erin."Those were the last words he spoke before looming out of the already depressing atmosphere.
"So does anyone actually know where Zeph went?" Duncan finally came up with something that didn't make him sound like an elephant with the munchies.
"Not in the slightest." John admitted.
"He might have gone after Xeno."Rick turned away from Fern to announce his idea.
"It's possible." John half-agreed.
"I have an idea!" Leona put her index finger in the air. "Let's take a vacation together!"
The room responded with various W's.What, where, why, when etc.
"Well the school gives December off right?" Leona stated.
"Yeah, so what?" John asked.
"We should relax and take a vacation in Italy! We can drive there, the food is great and its warm!"
"I guess so." Rick was a little sceptical of dropping everything and going to Italy. But then again, what else would he do with his time?
"I think its a great idea." Marvin gave his opinion.
"Maybe." Fern was very quite.
"I can taste the pasta already!" Duncan lost all credit for his previous statement.
"Only if Able can come." John went from a normal mood to a sulky grey one.
"But John we will need you as an interpreter." Leona sighed.
"I don't know that much Italian."
"It's better than nothing."
...
Meanwhile, a short distance away.
"They think they have it tough. They don't even know what Erin's going through right now. She could die if she doesn't get the help she needs."Haran kicked a rock into the river that flowed under the worn bridge he stood upon.
"You need help there friend?" A old and creaky voice struck Haran's eardrums."I would be glad to assist, provided you return the favour."
Haran didn't turn to face the man beside him. "What do you need, Uncle?"
...
As the group thought up a plan to both get Able and secure a flight to Italy,Zephier was on his way to Vienna. The road was empty and the forest son either side made him feel trapped as the sun began to sink down beyond the horizon. His head pounded, overflowing with thoughts like a dam about to burst. How could he leave his friends? How could he be so relentless? How could he make it up to them?
