"What's wrong with you?" Justin asks while focusing on the road in front of him.
"Hm?" I blink my eyes snapping out of staring at rain clouds.
"I said what's wrong with you? Why do you look so upset?" he repeated a bit faster.
*Sigh* "Oh, nothing just bored." I slowly blinked my eyes trying not to fall asleep.
"Sure doesn't look like boredom." he said calmly.
"Well what else could it possibly be? It's Monday!" i snapped.
"You're obviously upset. You don't stare out of my truck window for no reason." he was a bit aggravated with my answers.
"Well aren't you smart?" i snappishly giggled.
"jee-zoo! you don't have to snap back like that! I'm only caring about you!" Justin smirked, and glanced at me
*sigh* "I'm Sorry alright! I just, you know..... miss my mom that's all..." it was silent for a moment. I mean of course it was, what do you say to that?
"Hey, I know it's hard, but you have to keep your head up no matter how hard things get. I'm sure she is smiling over you right now." he smiled hoping it would chear me up. A tear slowly ran down my face at the thought of my mother. It was silent as we pulled up to the school. He stopped in a parking spot and put the truck in park and we jerked forward.
"Listen, Audry, in a couple weeks there's this 17th birthday party. You remember our old neighbor lia right?"
"Yeah, where's she been?"
" I dunno, but it's a masquerade party. I'm not sure why i guess she's into that Shakespearean time with the fancy gowns and crap-but well anyway, she asked for you to come. " he sincerely announced.
"I don't know anyone in your grade!" I jump!
"That's the whole point you," he paused " Make," he paused once more, "Friends." he made sound like a joke!
"ugh, I don't like your grade-" i moan.
"You don't know my grade." he insists.
i was silent for a few moments thinking of what to say.
"I'll think about it.... Can I bring Leslie and Jesse?"
"Yeah I think They were already invited and-" he was cut off by the school bell.
*DIIIINNNG* *DDIIINNNNG* *DINNNG *
"Get to homeroom before i get you into trouble." he laughed!
"Where else am i gonna go?" i said loudly as i opened and jumped out of the truck with my things.
"True NOW GET!" he turned his truck off and was following me from a distance.
Great now i'm starting to sweat while rushing to class, so much for looking good! my hair is all over the place my sleeve is sliding down my shoulder. It's just bad...
First period is going to be hell, three minutes is not enough time to fix my shit and then try to make Pintly's class that's a mile away. Physics, no, algebra, no, literature, YES!
I turned to sprint to class, "AHH" i dropped my books went everywhere after nearly nailing Jessie with my body! So much for quick. "Jesse! Don't do that!"
"Audry! I wanted to ask you something!!" she was ecstatic to see me!
"so you stand an inch behind me silently?" I say it like it's a crime and quickly pick my books up.
