we walked into a room filled with armoured, weaponed, hugely, jacked people. I couldn't believe the sight! A petite woman approached me from my right. She was in a gray suit, with her silky black hair twirled into a bun and holding a gray clipboard. She held the clipboard in front of her like a teacher would as if she were reading her day plans. "hello, Audry i presume?" she asked.
"yes, that's me" i wasn't to confident when answering.
"hi, I'm Captain Laney." she held out her hand with a comforting smile on her face.i shook her hand firmly.
I jumped, startled almost when i realized i had to introduce Keaton, Wes, and Drew. "Oh yeah! This is Keaton Stromberg," I put my right arm on Keaton's left shoulder. Then walked to Wes and Drew doing the same. "This is Wes Stromberg, Keaton's brother, and this is Drew Chadwick a good friend of their's and now mine." i smiled remembering the hit the old guy took. "They're in a band called Emblem3, right off of Xfactor USA, and have that new song Chloe You're the One I Want!" Captain Laney's nose flared as is she took a big breathe and her eyes popped.
"Come this way." we passed lab, after lab, and indoor firing ranges to gym rooms. You name it, they had it. She brought us to a metal door that said TV room on a little golden plaque, top center of the door. We walked in and TVs covered the walls! Each TV had it's own one channel. There was a wall for news reports from NBC weather reports all the way to E! News. I turned to the wall on my right and noticed a home and rooms that home owned looked oddly familiar.
"IS THAT MY HOME!?"
"Why yes it is Audry." she answered calmly. "how else could we protect you?"
"Keep my mom home, i dunno!"
She held her hand out and presented the wall to the left. "This is the news wall!" she walked up to the front wall and held her left hand presenting a hundred more TVs
"this is the government wall" it was basically news channels on everything going on with the government and others with cameras inside places like the white house and the pentagon. She then walked up to the wall of my house and presented it the same and said "and this Audry, this is your wall. Now that i showed you what was in here so you have the jist of this room, look at the news wall."
We turned and stood very close to the TVs. I couldn't see how we didn't notice it before! News channels freaking out "EMBLEM3 GONE MISSING!" and others showing videos of cars that passed us on the highway showing the two bodies that we still actually have in our jeeps.
"Your fans are going crazy looking for you guys, but we can't let you out just yet it's too dangerous. Until we come up with a strategic and death defying plan you guys have to stay here."
"Are our jeeps still siting in the same place we got out of them at?"
"no, the machine that took you here put them in the car lot."
"Okay, can you take me to my mother?"
"sure! right this way!" she led us down a hall and to a room that said Lieutenant Henderson. "she is right in here." Laney stood on the right of the door and didn't follow me in.
I cracked the door open, then closed it again. "Hey guys, nothing against you guys, but can i do this alone?"
"yeah, yeah, sure." they shook their heads i was sure they understood.
i opened the door and walked into the apartment that i thought would just be an office.
"do you live here?"i called out in the white hallway leading to a white living room that had a brown recliner, a brown couch and wood flooring. No one answered me so i figured she didn't hear me. I heard some dishes clattering in the kitchen, so i figure she must be in the kitchen. As i passed the living room a wall on my left had pictures of me almost every year of my life. I couldn't stop smiling, i was so happy i was going to see my mom for the first time in a while! there was a small open cut out in the wall about the size of an average window showing the kitchen with a doorway to the kitchen about a foot away from it. There was a woman frantically washing a cookie sheet, she was tall and had wavy blond hair in a pony tail.
"Mom?" i called to her. she stopped cleaning and shut off the sink. She was frozen facing away from me still staring at the cookie sheet. i hate to admit it, but i was nervous to walk up to her. i slowly walked to the door way and stepped up to the kitchen. "Mom?" my voice shook. she dropped the cookie sheet looked up and took a loud breathe in.
"you found my note."
"Yeah a second before my friends and i died." i laughed, she didn't find it to funny though!
"Audry.."
"yeah."
"i'm sorry!" she started to cry and then turned around and ran towards me. i started crying at the sight of her. it felt to Good to be true even though it was real! "let me explain everything to you!"
"mom, can the guys come in too? so they can understand everything too? I probably wouldn't be able to explain as much as i'd like to in much sense again to them."
"yeah, sure who are they?"
"when they come in i'll tell you, but Keaton is my boyfriend."
"Well this will be interesting!"
