Arizona's POV: My eyes widen as I look at my wife hide behind a menu like a child. If our daughter wasn't behind us, I would probably laugh. I start to turn my head to look but Callie shakes her head.
"What is she doing here? She's supposed to be at Merediths house" I whisper.
"She is with Meredith." Callie says and peaks her eyes over the menu.
"Crap." I say and lay down my menu. "What do we do? Pretend like we don't see them?"
"I don't know," she's quiet for a bit, still hiding behind the menu. "Let's just go about our normal dinner and hope that they don't notice us." I raise my eyebrows and give her a questionable look.
"Really? That's the plan?" I laugh a bit.
"Well what else should we do? I'm not gonna eat my wings behind a menu fort." She jokes and sits up straight. I laugh and look at the menu. After a couple minutes of searching, the waitress comes over and takes our order and brings our drinks. We sip on our sodas and have a nice conversation. God I missed this I think. It's so nice to sit here with her. The waitress comes back over with our wings and we dig in instantly. I got the least spicy wings while Callie got the hottest. We munch on our food and a third person joins our table. I look up from my wings and I see that Meredith is looking at us with a wide eyes and a confused look. I look over at Callie and raise my eyebrows. I drop my wing, wipe of my fingers and mouth, and look at Meredith again. The three of us sit in silence for a while.
"What the hell!?" Meredith finally says.
"Uh well long story short-we are back together." Callie says and Meredith raises her eyebrows.
"That's all? Just 'we are back together'?"
"Yea..." Callie says. I have no clue what to say.
"Where's Sofia?" I ask.
"In the car with Zola and Bailey. I snuck her out without her seeing you two, you're welcome" Meredith says and I smile and then look at my lap. Meredith puts her hands on her lap.
"Why are you guys together? How?" She asks. I feel bad because I know this isn't the first time that we will be asked this.
"Well to be honest, we went so long being without each other-" Callie starts but I interrupt
"-We just couldn't be apart anymore" I say and I grab her hand from across the table.
"Ok I get that but aren't both of you married?" She asks an obvious question.
"Yea well that didn't work out....." Callie starts.
"Wha-what happened? Did Mia do something?" Meredith asks.
"This really isn't the place to talk," I say and kinda glance around the room.
"You're right. Come over tomorrow night and we'll talk." She say and starts to stand up.
"Oh and one more question" Callie says.
"Yes?"
"Can Sofia stay with your for a bit? Just until we figure things out." Callie asks. Meredith looks at her for a bit and then nods.
"Of course. She's always welcomed at our house, you know that." She says and smiles. "I gotta go. The car is running. I'll see you two tomorrow" and she walks away. We watch her walk out and when she's out of sight, we look at each other and let out a sigh of relief. Callie starts to eat again but I don't have much of an appetite anymore.
"What are we going to do about Sofia?" I ask. Callie looks up at me with a mouthful of wings. As adorable as she looks right now, I'm really serious. She swallows and then thinks for a bit.
"I honestly don't know. We both don't really have houses anymore." She says.
"Maybe we can rent an apartment for a bit. Try to get close to the hospital, like 502." I say and smile at the memory. I miss that apartment but at the same time I don't.
"That sounds like a good idea. Wanna look at some when we get back to the hotel?" She asks
"Sure." I say, smile and keep finish my wings. We finish our meal and go to leave when I phone vibrates. It's a text. I turn it on and my stomach drops.
Why were you and Mom at Buffalo Wild Wings together?
