Chapter 2 - School

「Nikki's POV」

I styled my hair into loose curls as Elizabeth calls us down for breakfast.
"Coming!" I yell, walking out of the bathroom.
I watch as Mackenzie, now physically 18, skip down the stairs. I walk to the dining room to find it packed.
"People come during the middle of the night?" I ask.
"Yeah." MyAnna says, chucking down some orange juice.
"They're not going to school 'til tomorrow." Elizabeth says, still setting out plates of breakfast.
I pout and sit down, grabbing my fork and digging in.
"Delicious, thanks Liz, gotta go!" Julia says, grabbing her backpack.
Everyone else gets up and grabs their backpacks as well.
"Come on Nikki!" Casey yells at me, pulling my arm, making me drop my plate to the floor.
"I'm coming! Geez!" I say, taking my bag and she pushes me into the car.
Cameron starts up the engine and drives to Forks High School.
"I didn't finish my breakfast." I say folding my arms.
"Aw.. Is Nikki mad?" Ashley asks me with a pouty face.
"Knock it off." I frown.
"Geez, someone's moody." Robert says and I stick my tongue at him.
We arrive about 3 minutes later and we get out. Cameron rolls down the window.
"Rachelle will pick you up, k?" Cameron asks all of us and we nod.
"Later." He says, driving away, not bothering to roll the window up again.
"Lets do this.. Cullen Style." Kristen says with a smirk, gripping Roberts hand.
We all walk in, as cool as we can, it must have been pretty good because everyone stopped and stared. Mackenzie stops at the office and gets our schedules.
"Here you go." Mackenzie says, handing us our schedule sheets.
Mine read:
"Nikki Reed

Period 1 - Calculus, Room 587
Period 2 - Biology, Room 724
Period 3 - History, Room 826
Period 4 - Gym
Period 5 - Lunch
Period 6 - Spanish, Room 162
Period 7 - Music"

This was going to be a heck of a day.

「Period 1」

Mackenzie, Kellen and I walk into Calculus to find paper airplanes flying everywhere. A middle aged man, probably in his forties with brown hair and eyeglasses, was at a desk in the front of the room. He cleared his throat and the class went silent.
"Ah.. You must be the new students. Welcome to Calculus, I'm Mr. WelJack. Why don't you introduce yourselves, hm?" He asks us.
"O... Ok." Mackenzie stutters and she walks to the front of the class.
"Um... I'm Mackenzie Foy, adopted daughter of Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser. I'm 18 and I love to draw and hang out with my family." She says loud yet quietly.
She steps away and lets Kellen take her spot. He waves at the class.
"Hi, I'm Kellen Lutz, I'm an adopted son of Peter and Elizabeth as well, I'm 18 (I know he's 20 in the story, that's how old he is but he's lying, so calm down. Thank you) and I love to do pranks and that kind of stuff." He says with a huge grin and he lets me take his place.
"I'm Nikki Reed, another adopted daughter of Peter and Elizabeth, um, I have a boyfriend and I like to go on afternoon walks and....." I trail off.
I didn't know what to say, I quickly find a seat. So does Mackenzie and Kellen. The class, after I finish, resumes in it's chaos and Mr. WelJack sighs in defeat.

「Period 2」

I introduce myself and find my seat. My mind tumbles as the facts get written on my paper. Now I'm getting a strange feeling that I'm being watched. I look behind my shoulder to find a pale skinned Jackson staring at me. My head snaps forward and I shut my eyes.
"Why?" I mumble quietly.
I reopen my eyes to the blaring sound of the school bell. I pick up my things and hurry along to my next class.

「Period 3」

'Blah, blah, blah. I already know this stuff.' I think in frustration as I read through my textbook.
I skim the page, looking for something new to learn, nothing. I finally decide to give up when a word catches my eye.
"Volturi" the bold print read.
'Hm...' I think, eyeing the word and I read the paragraph.
By the time I finish, the bell rang and I bolted to my locker, grabbing my gym clothes and dumping my books in.

「Period 4」

The coach was really nice. She made us run a couple laps, then we could choose what we wanted to do! Play volleyball, dodgeball or just hang out. I decide to hang out and I jog over to Ashley.
"Hey Ash." I say.
"Hey." She answers back.
"How's your school day?"
"Good, I guess."
"I guess?"
"Yeah, I don't really know. I haven't finished it." She said smirking.
"Wow...." I say, rolling my eyes.
We laugh at my comment when a pale Kristen, Bella, walks up to us.
"Um.. Hey, you're Ashley right?" She asks Ash.
"Yeah... How do you know my name?" Ashley questions.
"We're in Music together."
"Oh.. That's right, I forgot."
Bella shrugs.
"It's ok." She says.
Then, the bell sounds and Ashley and I change quickly, then walk to the Cafeteria.

「Lunch」

Julia, Robert and Mackenzie catches up with us.
"Finally! I'm famished." Julia states, patting her flat stomach.
Mackenzie, Ashley and I giggle at her comment. We walk up to the lunch line and pick our food.
"What table should we sit at?" Robert asks.
I look around and find Kristen and Casey talking at a table.
"Over there, see Casey and Kristen."
"Yeah." Rob says, walking.
We follow close behind, getting some stares from the Cullens but I ignore it.
"Ok. We really need to talk about the Cullen thing, their stares are freaking me out." I hear Casey whisper.
I sit down next to her.
"You too huh?" I ask and she nods.
"We've been getting them all day." Kristen chimes in.
'This is going to be an odd start to the afternoon..' I think.
I finish every last bit of my lunch and I dump the trash into the can.

「Period 6」

I sit down and listen as the teacher drags on and on with the lesson.
"Did I ever tell you about the story I had with this cute little puppy named Fifi?" The teacher asked a rhetorical question.
I muted her voice and sketched in my notepad, a butterfly. If you couldn't already tell, I was bored out of my mind. Then, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I look to my left to find Bella staring at me.
"Can I borrow a pencil? I dropped mine."
"Uh.. Sure." I answer, handing her a spare.
"Thanks." She whispered back to me.
The class ended with a loud cheer. Everyone loves when the teachers go off course.

「Period 7」

I find an empty spot in the room.
"Ok everyone, today we'll be singing "Amazing Grace", grab a booklet." The teacher says and I grab one.
"One, Two, One, Two, Three." The teacher conducts and the whole class starts to sing.

「After they finish the song」

I put the booklet back on the pile and walk out of the room. I unlock my locker and grab the books out of it.
'Schools out.' I think in relief.
I wander outside, looking for the minivan to appear with Rachelle in it. The others come next to me and wait as well. About 10 minutes later, Rachelle shows up.
"There you are!" Maggie cries.
"Sorry, had to get a hat, now, I already drew and Kellen will be riding in the front." Rachelle states.
I climb into the car and stare out the window as we move along.
"We're home!" Julia yells as she walks through the door.
"Good. How was school?" Michael asks, flipping through TV channels.
"Horrible." We said in unison.
