The secret supergirl

Chapter 6- First things first

"Let's do this." I say excitedly

"Who are you even talking to?" Brenda asks confused.

"My pet cyclops." I say to her sarcastically.

"We are going to start you on flying. Have you learned the basics and how to keep steady?" Jake asks me.

"Yeah I went up to at least 200mph I think." I say kinda bragging.

"200? Eh, that's less than average.The average speed for a superhero like superman will go up to 400 mph. It's pretty fast." Jake tells me but before I can agree, a bunch of random noises go through my head.

"What the heck?" I rub my forehead and sense something bad about to happen. "I've got to go, someone is in trouble."

Brenda grabs my wrist, "You can't go yet, Andrea. We still haven't gone off all basics, plus you need a disguise."

I start to think about all that trainging, "I won't have enough time to save the people though!" I tell her. She leaves the room quickly.

"Do you know how to use all your powers correctly?" Jake asks me.

"Yes, I should be good. Not perfect but good enough." I tell him not very confidently.

Brenda walks back into the room with an outfit ready.

"So it's not perfect but we can always make adjustments later." It's a pair of blue leggings with a sky blue shirt. She made a mask to hide my identity and leather boots that are very comfortable.

"Is this it? What about a letter on the front of my shirt like superman? Or even a cape." I say as I look at the outfit.

Next thing I know is that I have a duct tape letter of S on my front of my shirt.
She got a piece of fabric left and sewed it on really quickly to the shirt. Brenda is really good in sewing and fashion stuff. I try everything on.

"Wow, This looks great." I say to Brenda as I model it for her and jake.

"Yeah, I tried. It's not my best work." Brenda says.

"It's good enough, you have to go! Remember you are going to save the world!" Jake says hurriedly.

"I'm not saving the world, I'm fixing it."I say correcting him.

"Just go!" They both shout at me.

I jump out the window, it's dark outside and I'm not sure where the problem was. I rethink the images.It's in North Carolina. I get up to 300 mph. This won't be fast enough. I try to go faster. 350, 375, 400, 450. 453mph , That's the fastest I can go at the moment. I make it there pretty soon. I see where it is. A building is on fire. I'm surprised that the firemen aren't here yet. It must be a smaller town with less firemen. It's an orphanage. 2 kids on the top floor and 5 on the middle floor. Gladly the rest made it out of the building. I rush into the top floor.

The two kids are a boy and a girl. Probably 6 and 10 years old or around that range. I see the boy hugging the little girl. He's trying to keep her protected since he younger. He seems very brave.

"Hi, I'm supergirl and I will help you get out of here. Cover your mouths and try not to breath in much of the smoke." I tell the kids nicely and in a calming tone. I pick them both up and fly out of the window. I then set them on the ground. They run to the kids and orphanage lady.

Last stop hopefully. The middle floor looks more smoking then the top. It's a good age range of 8-14 years old kids. I fly in the window and pick up the youngest ones first about 3 of them.

Then I go back to help the older ones. I pick them up and start to walk quickly out so the building won't collapse. I get them all out and set them down. I try to think of how to save the building. I start to blow out a breath of cold on the building. It stops the fire. Everyone is then cheering. I look back at them and smile. They can't see my face cause it's too dark outside.

I hear a crack then a lot of others. It's the orphanage. The wood is cracking. Everything collapses.

I stop and look at the damage. Everything is just broken. Windows are broken but not all the floors have collapsed. Only the top floor.

People are crying. Others are in shock. Then the police and the firemen start coming down the street. I see them and fly away. I can't reveal my identity.

I fly back to Brenda's house. I talk to them about what all happened. Glad that I'm safe and haven't revealed my identity. We turn on the tv. I didn't think this would be on the news.
