Landon
"So Sila what do you do for a living? I mean you comfortable as hell man." I was currently at Sila's house and she was nice enough to prepare breakfast.
"International hairstylist. I have clients world wide. I've been basically everywhere."
"Seriously?" I asked shocked.
"Yes, but to be completely honest with you before any of this I was a stripper."
My eyes widened even further than they were before. "Is that right?"
She sighed nodding. "Yeah, I did it for two years. My entire family shamed me for it. My culture is so strict it's unbelievable. They shamed me for it but lived off of it. Lived in my house and had the nerve to disrespect me everyday."
"You mentioned this to me last night but I ain't press the issue because you were drunk."
She chuckled. "Thank you again for that. I don't usually get that drunk but it's just-"
"Family." We both blurted.
"Yeah, I get it. It wasn't a biggy. You wasn't sloppy and messy."
"Thank God." She smiled, I was completely infatuated with her dimples. They were so deep you could see them with just the slightest smirk.
"So you're here alone? No boyfriend no nun? Just you in this big ass house."
"Just me. I'm thinking about getting pets. It's just way too quiet and lonely here, driving me insane."
"Get you some dogs or something. They always keep the best company."
"I plan to. What about you though? Girlfriend?"
"Hm." I chuckled rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeaaaaaaah." I dragged. "Yeah, yeah I do. We ain't together but that's my girl and I'm her nigga."
She started to respond but was cut off by my phone ringing. I apologized and looked at the screen seeing it was Savannah.
"Yeah, wassup?" I answered.
"Can you stop by the hotel for a second? I just wanna talk. I feel uneasy."
"Right now?"
"Yes, please. Are you busy?"
"Um sortve but I'll come."
"Busy doing what?"
"I'm eating breakfast."
"With Keyarii?"
"No, a friend. You don't know her."
"Her. Okay. See you when you get here."
"Yeah Savannah." I sighed hanging up before she could get another word in.
"You gotta run, I understand." Sila smiled. "Thank you for having breakfast with me."
"Thank you for taking the time to cook. It was amazing."
"No biggie." She hopped out of her chair to give me a hug. "See ya later?"
"Yeah of course." I hugged her back and said my final goodbye's. I wrecked my brain thinking about what Savannah could want to talk about the entire ride.
I just know one thing, I'm not arguing today. The shit is old.
I made it to the hotel in less than half an hour and up to the hotel room.
"Hey." She mumbled as I entered the room.
"Hey how you feeling?"
She shrugged as she sat on the bed and I sat on the chair in front of her.
"So wassup?"
"I feel like this isn't what you want.."
I mentally rolled my eyes but maintained a poker face. "Elaborate."
"I mean, you said you were coming out here to help me out but it seems like you're just distancing yourself. You don't stay in the hotel with me, you're out partying, every chance you get you throw up what I did in my face. Why are you here Lan? I know I fucked up, I know. You can't help me by constantly reminding me of it. You know that right? I've been through so much and I can't put the blame on that but it messed me up. I'm trying and you seem just unbothered."
I stared at her and bit down on my bottom lip and nodded standing up.
"Where are you going?" She mumbled.
"Home." I said simply.
"Oh..." She trailed off. "Maybe it's best. I'll see you when I get back."
I chuckled loudly causing her to jump. "Me? You gon see me?"
"Yeah-"
"That's where you're wrong Savannah. I'm tired. You understand that? I'm tired of trying. This entire time all you've done is push your insecurities off on me bruh. I don't know what else to do but I'm not doing this anymore. You really sitting here acting like I'm the problem. The entire time you spoke not once have you mentioned how I felt. Shit, the entire time we've been here you have yet to mention how I felt. It's always "You hurt my feelings. I feel like you don't care. I've been through a lot. I'm upset. I'm this. I'm that. Me me me fucking me." Not once have you sat me down and said, Landon I know this hard on you so let's talk about how you feel. Yes, you going to therapy. Good for you, but that's for you Savannah. Not for us. I truly believe now, there is no more us. If you feel like I don't care or I'm not helping or whatever the hell you feel, fine. You're entitled to feel that, but I'm done."
"Landon, wait please-" She cried holding on to my arm.
"Nothing I do is good for you Savannah. Nothing I've ever done has been good enough obviously. I'm done with this, forreal. Shit makes me sick mentally, physically, and emotionally. I'm not fucking happy no more dawg"
"I'm sorry!" She cried out.
"Aren't you always?" I opened the door, closing it behind me.
I was beyond fed up with the entire situation at hand. Tired of giving my all and being told or showed that it's not enough. I've had enough of that shit.
Tomorrow I would be making my way back to Atlanta to continue my life before Savannah. Before the heart break and tears that I couldn't help but to shed.
Whatever happens, happens. I ain't holding back or hindering my happiness for anything or anyone ever again.
I promise you.
