Poe and You, along with the other three volunteers, headed to the battle barracks after Leia informed you of your mission. Every step closer you took, you became even more nervous. Thoughts of how the mission will turn out, fluttered in your skull. 'Will we make it back?' you pondered even more. The hallway turned a swift right and the doors to the battle barracks opened at your arrival. This was it, your first mission.

Poe helped you strap your helmet on, while you did the rest yourself. The others, which their names were; Jax, Lizzie, and Tommy, had already finished suiting up. They looked at each other will slight loathing to the mission, but their eyes spoke excitement. Poe smiled and gave you a friendly pat on the back.

"You will be ok." he reassured you. You nodded in agreement. "Promise, Poe? Will you stay by my side? No matter what happens?" you grabbed his arm worried. Poe took your hand and hugged you, "I promise, no matter what."

You all lined up in front of five individual X-wings, Poe was already beside his X-wing. He was the best pilot there and knowing that fact, you relaxed a little. General Leia stood facing all five of you, she had a look of concern, but quickly hid it with a look of confidence. "I want to thank each and everyone of you for volunteering, I understand that you know the danger. So I am here to thank you and wish you the best of luck." She saluted all of you and you saluted back.

Your nerves were frantic as you boarded your X-wing, the compartment was not too small or too big. Your new assistant droid, named RB-4S, was placed in your ship, or on top technically. RB-4S beeped happily as if to say; "Let's kick First Order butt!". Wait, it did say that! How did you understand the little droid so fluently? You shook your head and pretended that it was all in your nerves.

Take-off was to start soon and you became filled with more and more adrenaline. 'This is it! Let's do it!' you thought excitedly. Poe gave the signal and you, along with everyone else, started their X-wings. You looked up through the canopy and smiled at your reflection against the glass.

Poe started first, he zoomed across the airfield and took off into the clouds. Then, you went next, zipping across the asphalt, your mission had started and there was no going back. The sound of your ship taking off was screaming in your ears, but you didn't care you were too excited to finally be a pilot. RB-4S beeped calmly and you sighed happily, as now you were now flying in space.

Your headset beeped and Poe's voice drifted into your ears. "Looks like you made it up. How amazing is this for a first time?" he asked exhilarated. You at first didn't have the words to describe the purr of the X-wing or the view from the window. "It's, too mesmerizing to explain!" you responded. Poe let out a small chuckle. "I felt that way too, in fact I always feel that way when flying." he answered. The headset beeped once more and three other voices were uttered from the speaker. "We all made it up." Tommy stated along with cheers from Jax and Lizzie. You leaned back and yelled, "Woohoo!" while gliding through the midnight void.
