Chapter 11: Cotton balls

When Katie and I get back to the house we all agree to do the Cottonball Challenge.

Cat begins the intro, "Hey guys! Today I'm here with Joey and Katie! And we are going to be doing the cotton ball challenge. Katie, you can go first!"

I blindfold Katie and she grabs a spoon and puts the empty bowl over her head. As she goes to get the first scoop I pull the bowl away, but she doesn't realize.

"Ooh guys! I think I got one!" She says as she pulls her spoon out of mid air and onto the bowl on top of her head.

Cat and I muffle our laughter managing to say "1 scoop down". I put the bowl back for the other 4 scoops and Katie only got one.

"So Katie how many do you think you got?" Cat asks.

"Hmm.. probably either zero or one cause I suck at this. I'll go with none."

"Nope! You actually got one!" I say laughing as she takes her blindfold off. She shoots me a half smile,

"Oh shut it Josi. You try if it's so easy."

I gladly accept her challenge and she blindfolds me. I grab the spoon and put the empty bowl over my head.

I reach down trying to scoop as many as I can from the bowl. "Hmm I think I got 2 that time." I hear Cat laugh, "Well that was your first scoop.."

After I finish my other 4 scoops I guess, "I think I have five."

I take off my blindfold as they laugh hysterically. "ZERO!" They both happily chant, mocking my failure.

"Whatever it's so stupid anyways."

"Aw is Josi a sore loser?" Katie says teasing me.

I give her the shutup look and stare into her beautiful brown eyes. She laughs, "Alrighty Kit Cat's turn!"

Cat does her first four scoops and has 6! On her last scoop I pull the bowl away and Katie shoots me a fake surprised look and mouths, "cheater!" Cat says, "Okay I think I got none considering our inability to play this game.." She pulls off her blindfold to see 6 and we all laugh.

"See you're good at this Joey and I are just.. special. We have different talents.." Katie says laughing.

"Alright guys well I have a discovered a new useless talent! And I won! Woo woo. Thanks for watching, see ya next time!" Cat closes her video.

As I was about to invite Katie to watch a movie with us Cat turns to Katie, "Aw well thanks for coming over girl!" We both look surprised by Cat's immediate attempt to kick her out. "Oh yeah uh thanks for having me. This was fun. I'll see you guys around. Joey call me later so we can book the flights!" Katie gives both of us hugs and leaves.

"Well that was fu-" I say as Cat cuts me off, "What is wrong with you!? You've been flirting with Katie all day and you're booking flights? To where? Why am I not apart of this? I can't believe you." Cat storms out of the livng room and locks herself in the bathroom upstairs. Whoa.

I go upstairs, "Babe let me in, it's not what you think."

After persisting for a minute Cat unlocks the door and opens it a crack, "fine."

After a minute of us sitting on the floor in silence she says, "I'm sorry, did I overreact?"

"No, it's fine hun. We were just having fun sorry if you thought I was being flirtatous, I'm not trying to. And we are making flights together to visit our families in Boston and even though she's going to her boyfriends place and I'm visitng family, we thought it would be nice to fly down together."

Cat and I lay in bed trying to fall asleep. "I'm sorry I overreacted before babe, I didn't realize she had a boyfriend. You guys are bestfriends of course you get along so well."

"It's fine, let's just go to sleep."

As I'm falling asleep I hear Cat say something but I'm too tired to understand what she said and I fell asleep.

I wake up and rub my eyes, seconds later Cat wakes up. "So you never answered my question last night.." She said.

"What question? I must've been asleep.."

"What really happened to us after the Race? I just need to know what happened. I missed you."

"I guess we thought we were better off as friends."

"Well.. do you think we are?"

We look at each other. We aren't meant to be together.

Then Cat nods her head and says, "It's for the best. You're still my bestie though."

"Shoot girl, I know that that will never change." I say and give Cat a hug.
 It's funny how Cat and I can kiss and be a couple for a day, but things don't get weird between us. That's why she's my bestfriend because things are never awkward between us, we just roll with it.
