It was currently midnight and you and Derek were watching a movie in the loft.

"Babe, can we go for a walk in the woods?" Derek asked

"Now?" You replied.

"Yeah"

"Give me five minutes"

You went into your room and took one if Derek huge hoodies and wore it with some jeans and some timberland boots. Your hair was tossed up in a messy bun and your face was bare of any make up. Before you left you rooted through your handbag for you keys, grabbed your phone and returned to an already dressed Derek standing by the door.

"Someone's eager" You commented.

He laughed.

"Is that my hoodie"

"Yeah"

"You should wear it more often, you look beautiful"

You smiled at your cheesy boyfriend. He took your hand and you both left.

While you walked to the woods you talked about aimless trivial things like the new show that you guys just HAD to watch.

Once you had got to the start of the path Derek gripped your hand. Although the woods was a magical place for you and Derek, it was a known hang out place for hunters.

"Do you remember the first time we met?" Derek asked pulling you closer to him and wrapping his arm around you.

You were in the middle of a run. Your blood was pumping and your legs were on fire. Then out of nowhere you bumped into a hard chest and a set of perfectly sculpted abs.

"You shouldn't be here" a deep, very sexy, voice informed you.

The man had on a thin grey v neck t-shirt and some black jeans. The shirt clung to his abs and his hair was a little messy.

"Well, I need a place to run and the people at my gym recommended this trail."

"It's not safe."

"Listen, mate, I need somewhere to run and this is where I plan on running. So if I die you have my full permission to say I told you so at my funeral."

"You don't need to die, you can just stop running here."

"Yeah, whatever. This was a good chat. See you tomorrow" You replied shoving your earphones back into your ears and restarted your run.

You smiled.

"Yeah I do"

"And I had to give you the bite how long after our conversation.?"

"It was over a month later and you know you would've had to give it to me sooner or later."

You had passed a familiar tree.

"Derek! Our first date tree!" You squealed running to it trying to feel the carving Derek left with his nail.

"Also, the tree where you lost your virginity on out 15th date."

You blushed, re-living the moment. You were so glad that your back was facing him.

"You know, we haven't added a date to the tree in a long time."

"I know, it's sad" you replied running your fingers over the carvings.

"Let's add another one right now"

"What do you mean?" You asked turning around.

You saw Derek on bent knee with a ring box in his hand.

"Ever since I saw you that day I knew I wanted to be with you. I thought you were the most beautiful woman in all of Beacon Hills. I hate that at times you don't think the same as me but if it means that I can show you how beautiful you are it helps me feel a little better. I know we've had some rough patches here and there, but we've persevered and come out on top. You are one of the best things that have ever happened to me. So will you, Y/N Y/L/N, make me the happiest half man half beast on this earth and agree to marry me?"

"Of course I will."

Derek got up and you pulled his face to yours and kissed him. He pulled away and took you hand and slid the ring onto your finger.

"Isn't this your mother's ring?"

He nodded.

"She told me to save it for someone special and I have, you."

He led you to the tree and used his werewolf hand to carve the date and wrote 'the day she agreed to be mine' underneath.

And now every year you and Derek walk through the woods and revisit your tree, adding new dates every time.
