I was more than tired. After two hours of training with Bellamy I couldn't feel my legs or my hands, but somehow, he was still fresh like he just woke up just then.
"Are you giving up, Princess?"
"Why do I have to learn how to beat a Grounder if we have guns?"
Bellamy looked serious at me and gave me a gun. "Shoot!" was everything that he said. I pulled the trigger but the gun didn't react. "This is why you need more training."
I rolled my eyes. Even if I could beat him a few times I had more bruises than I could count. It was exhausting. " I can't do it anymore." I exclaimed, making a grimace when I touched my left arm.
"Okay. You could have say it, y'know?" and he chuckled.
"Really?" I asked him almost furious. "You are an asshole."
"I get it. You are not accustomed to fight. Anyway, you are pretty good at this."
When I returned near the dropship everyone was talking about the Jaha's message about the Unity Day. For me, this brought only bad memories. Apparently, they will launch a first ship very soon and some of our people were happy for the possibility of seeing their families.
It was already night and everybody seemed happy. They're drinking Monty's moonshine and they were dancing around the fire.
"Hey, Bellamy, I talked with Raven. The communications are still dead. Probably they cut out during the pageant." I told him and he threw me a half smile.
"Best Unity Day ever, Princess."
"Do you really think now is a good time to be having a party? I mean the grounders are out there..."
"Relax. I got security covered. Why don't you go get a drink? You look like you could use one. Have some fun while you still can, Princess. You deserve it." and he smiled down at me.
"And you by the way."
"I'll have my fun when the grounders come." and Bellamy smirked this time.
I giggled and I got near the fire to ask for some moonshine. It had the most horrible taste in the world -not that I drank too much in my life- and I couldn't take more than a sip. It was almost midnight, when I started to feel very tired and I wanted to go to sleep when Clarke grabbed my arm and dragged me near the camp wall where was Bellamy too.
"Hey. I need to talk with you." said Clarke and Bellamy nodded. "Finn's set up a meeting with the Grounders. I'm leaving to talk to them."
"Because you figure that impaling people on spears is code for let's be friends? Have you lost your damn mind?" asked him.
"I think it might be worth a shot. I mean, we do have to live with these people."
"They'll probably gut you, string you as a warning."
"Well, that's why I'm here. I need you to follow us, be our backup."
"Does Finn know about this?"
"Finn doesn't need to know, and Bellamy, bring guns." he made a sign for me to follow him but Clarke stopped me.
"She needs to go with me." Bellamy threw her an ugly gaze. "Why do you want her to come with you?"
"I don't know. That's what Finn told me."
He was obviously angry and I was scared. I felt how I started to tremble. And apparently Bellamy saw this. "Calm down, Princess. You still have the knife I gave to you?" I nodded shyly. "Keep it close. You remember, right? Eyes, throat and groin." I nodded again but still trembling.
