Waking up after a dream about June is one thing. But waking up next to her? That's a whole other story.

I woke up with my arm under her head as a pillow, the other loosely wrapped around her waist. I inhale, the smell of her shampoo taking over my senses. Geez, what I would do to wake up like this every day.

"Daniel?" She mumbles.

"Yeah Junebug?" I pull some hair from her neck, playing with it. God, it felt like we were a couple even though we had barely kissed.

"I missed this."

I grin, kissing her neck. "Me too."

"Daniel?"

"Yes Junebug?"

She says nothing, but pulls the neckline of her t-shirt in the back down a bit.

I feel my heart rate increase ten fold. Gently, and very carefully, I place another kiss on her neck. She sucks in a breath. I take this as a good sign and make my way up to her jaw, kissing slowly and passionately. I feel her shift closer, scooting over so I was hovering over her. I pull away for a second. "You're good with this?" She nods, moving my hands to her hips. I swallow, going back to kissing her jaw.

She moans softly, causing my heart to skip a beat. Oh lord, help me now.

"Stop." She says suddenly, pushing my hands from her hips. I frown, plopping down beside her.

"Sorry." I mumble.

A pause.

"Don't you think that maybe we're going to fast?"

"Hmm?" I turn my head to face her.

"I mean, we haven't seen each other in ten years. And we've kissed. And almost more."

I sigh. "Look, June. I'm still in love with you, and I never stopped."

"I'm calling lies on that one. You lost your memory, or did you forget?"

"Was that a joke?"

"Daniel, I'm serious."

"Fine." I prop myself up on an elbow, looking down at her. Her eyes were focused on the ceiling, avoiding me. "I always knew I was missing something. Not a day went by that I didn't think about this hole that was in my heart. No, not a hole. The entire thing was missing, June. Goddy, I was obsessed. I wanted to know what it was, and gradually Eden gave me the details. He told me about this beautiful girl, with long brown hair and beautiful eyes. He told me about how she had killed our mother and brother-" June flinches. "And how I loved her anyway. He told me about how she had put her entire life aside to fight for a cause she had never believed in until she met me." I suck in a breath, my voice going quieter. "He told me about a girl, that I was incredibly in love with, that I wanted to marry, that I wanted a future with, that I wanted to call mine." She's looking me in the eye now. I feel tears clench inside my throat. "Please be mine June."

She shakes her head, sitting up. "I'm sorry Day, I can't."

"W-what?"

"No, you're right. I killed your family, I'm sorry." She pulls off my boxers, yanking on her jeans.

"June, wait, please-"

"No!" She yells, surprising me. "You expect me to drop everything, and be with you just because you came back! I had a life before you. I had moved on. And here you come, prancing back into the picture like some Prince, thinking you can just sweep me off my feet and whisk me away to some far off land? I'm not your princess, Day."

"Junebug..."

"Don't call me that. Only Metias called me that, and he's dead."

I flinch at her words. "Fine. If you're so unhappy, go. See if I care." I spit. She throws her hands up in the air, pulling her shirt back on over her head and stomping out. I hear a brief conversation between her and Andrew and clench my jaw, throwing my head back into the pillows and allowing myself to sink down, down into the white abyss, and down into my bleeding heart.

Heyyyylooooo loves!

Thank you so much for being so patient for an update, it really means the world and more to me.

So in case you didn't see my announcement, I'm going to be posting a new chapter every Friday! This one was so short because I've had so much homework this week and some friend issues, but I still wanted to update on time, so cheers to that.

Comment, vote, you know the works!
