CHAPTER 11: "School"

"I'm back!" Byul announce as she open their apartment's door. Yet, there's no one there. She look around. The dorm is too small for 5 boys and a girl to live. She let out a sigh and put her things on the floor. She make her way to the kitchen. It is not so hard to find where, because, the kitchen is just next to the living room. She want to open the refrigerator but stop when she see a few post-it-notes stick on it.

I'm sorry that I can't spend your birthday together. Wait for a lil bit. I'll make it up for u. - Hakyeon.

Byul, nae star~ happy belated birthday. U know I love u right? - Jaehwan

STAR!! OH YEAH~ hahah. HBB!! ILY - Ravi

My pretty Byul. Don't be sad coz we are not there on your birthday. Just know that we love u. - Hongbin

Byul. Happy belated birthday. Study smart. - Hyuk

She smiles widely as she read the notes. 'Typical Sanghyuk'. She chuckles.

Byul then open the ref and her eyes open widely on a sight of a small birthday cake and an iced caramel macchiato. 

She brings it out, and see a piece of letter at the bottom of the cake's plate. She pick the letter after she put the cake and coffee to the table in the living rooms. Sadly, that is the only table in the house.

Byul. For now, these are my gifts for u. I know I can give u a better gifts, but, I want to use my own money soon, after I successfully debut. So, for now, I hope u like my presents. I'll let u drink this coffee alone, but, please. Take care of yourself. Dont't be too hyper. I promise for a better make up party for u later.I love u so much best friend!!! - Cha Hakyeon.

"Cheesy~" Byul laugh when she reads the letter. Byul eyeing for the coffee.

"Yes~ finally. My macchiato!!" She clap happily before drink it.

"Byul. Wake up. You'll be late for your first day."

Byul wake up lazily as she hear the voice.

'Who is he? Where am I?' She ask herself. She is now sleeping on the couch, while there is stain of cake on her face. She look around. There are mess all over the place.

She try to remember what had happened last night. The only thing she did remember is..

She drink the coffee. And, she even ate the cake. To make it worst, it is coffee cake.

'A good one Hakyeon'. She murmur to herself and try to stand up.

"Byul. Go wash up. Take this, your uniform. Hurry up or you'll late." Mr. Kim hands a yellow school uniform to the sleepy Byul.

Byul take the uniform and walk lazily to the bathroom.

"Ahjussi. Did, Hakyeon and others come back home last night?" Byul ask Mr. Kim on their way to school. 

"No. They are having their practice till late night, and decide to sleep there. I think, they might not coming back this week because they have to practice." Mr. Kim tell her  calmly while his eyes still on the road.

"What? Don't they get rest? I mean, they are human. Not robots. They deserve rest!!" Byul exclaim in mad.

"Ya kid. I know. But, they need to practice. It less than a week before debut. Don't worry. They have a small dorm in the ent's building. I think, they got a good sleep and rest. In fact, I think, now. They are having their rest." He answer while looking on the watch.

"O..okay. Nice to hear." Byul reply.

"So. We arrive. Get off. I'll come with you to help in your transfer." Mr. Kim tell her while parking the car.

Later did Byul realize. She is in the Art Seoul Academy, where idols or actors are having their study before and after debut. She look at Mr. Kim, asking for explanation.

"Why?" Mr. Kim ask her in confuse.

"Why am I here again?" She ask.

"Study?" Short, he answer.

"Yeah. I know. But, why here??" Slowly, Byul increase her voice. Luckily, she already late for school, so, no one there at the school's yard.

"Why? Hakyeon ask me to let you school here. And, don't you realize the uniform you are now wearing?" He ask while pointing to the uniform.

'Okay. Now I realize. That's explain why this uniform looks familiar.' She thought to herself.

"But, I don't want to learn art. I mean.. Nah..forget it. I'll call Hakyeon." Byul said, pulling out her phone from her bag and dial Hakyeon's number.

"Hakyeon!!! Art's school? Are you kidding me??? Don't u know this is my final year??" Byul half screaming on the phone after the call has been connected. 

"Calm down. I.."

"Calm down? Calm down?!! Hell no!! If I enter this school , I have to start with 10th grade, which mean, JUNIOR??" She said. In her previous school, she is major in Science. If she transfer to an Art's school, she has to start from zero as she doesn't have basics in arts.

"I already settle everything. You can enter the 12th grade, even the same class with me.."

'Thanks God.' Byul thought to herself.

"But, you have to debut as idol."

"WHAT??!!"

Byul hesitates. Debut as an idol will mean that she will have no freedom. Everyone would know her. She would have no privacy. Yes. Fames. She hates it. That's the reason why she rarely with her parents. Her parents are a successful businessman. She see herself that they really have no privacy. Everywhere they go, there would be paparazzi, trying to sneak up their private life. Luckily, her parents leave Byul and her oppa in Daegu, far from the city of fames. Her parents just want Byul and Park Geom to have a normal life like other kids. Since she is 3, and her brother is 10, they live without their parents. 

Before, Byul thought that she can handle it. But, since the day Leo left her, she don't think she could. She promise that she would wait for Leo. If she surrounded by fames, she afraid that she would forget her promise with Leo.That's the reason why she stop her dreams to be an idol.

But, that's the only condition that Hakyeon give to her, so, that she would graduate this year. Who would want to repeat year? And, if she do repeat year, she might graduate only when she is 20. 

The question that Hakyeon ask her just now, keep replaying in her head.

"What did you really want to be? I know, with your good results in study and your specs, you could be a doctor, or engineer. Even a prosecutor. You also can apply for S. University. But, you didn't like all of it, right? You only have passion in music, stage, songs. So, just accept the reality. An idol suit you the most. If you afraid that you would forget about Leo, then tell me. In this past years, did Leo even contact you? Did you really think, he remember your promise??"

Byul is now at VIXX's dorm. After her conversation with Hakyeon just now, she decides to go back homE (VIXX's dorm). Hakyeon give his permission. He give her times to think. 

"Next week, you should have the answer. Whether you want to repeat years, or, you can be my classmates and we graduate together, which mean, you have to debut as idol."

Hakyeon give her two choices. Between dreams and promise. Between future and love. She look at her bracelet then to the uniform that hang up at the door of her room.

"Leo, what should I do?"
