Honestly, I apologize so much for not updating Saturday. I really need to get better with being on schedule. I would've updated earlier, but I was in a hotel in a different city, and I couldn't connect my computer to WiFi. But, it's here, and the next update will be Saturday (wrote this Tuesday and now it's Friday :/). I'm done...

Also, shoutout to everyone who voted on my story, I appreciate your support for this story so much. As wells as to Galaxy_Lunaa and auralucis , who have voted on basically every chapter. Thank you so much <3

CHAPTER SEVEN//FEATURE ME

I erupted in laughter as I got pushed higher on the swing, my stomach flying as if I were on a roller coaster.

"Higher!" I screamed.

Landon pushed all his weight against me as he exerted more force on me, causing me, if even possible, to go higher.

"I'm beating you!" Riley shouted, as Grayson pushed her.

"Landon!"

I got pushed higher, beating her by an inch. Hah, in your face.

And just like that, all the fun was ruined with a blaring phone. My phone to be exact. I gracefully jumped off the swing, landing on my feet with my knees bent before answering the phone. Aubrey immediately took my spot, sticking her tongue out at me.

I glanced at the screen of my iPhone, my manager, Karolyn, calling me.

"Hello?"

"It's me," she answered, her humor leaking through the phone. I chuckled. Business could be fun with the right people.

"Hey, Karolyn," I answered. "What's up?"

"Well, before I start, just let me tell you that I tried everything in my power to prevent this."

I sighed, already dreading the bad news. "What is it?"

I could already imagine her biting her lip. "It's the Vogue feature."

Feature me, I thought.

"They moved the photoshoot up. Something about deadlines."

I plopped down onto the playground slide, raking a hand through my hair. "Damn. It's my vacation, and I can't even get a break."

"I know, and I tried so hard to explain that to them. It's your choice. Either take it, or leave it, and it threatens your chance at Fashion Week."

"What? That's so ridiculous!"

"I know, sweetie, I know. Do you need time?"

I pondered it, running through alternatives for the situation, but came up short. I couldn't possibly risk this.

"No, I don't need time. I can't possibly risk it. When's my flight for New York?"

"Well, here's the good news."

"There was good news?" I ask, shocked, but I couldn't help but laugh. Karolyn knew how I was.

"You know me, and I know you. I wasn't leaving this without a fight."

"Well, let's hear it."

"The good news is that Vogue Germany is letting you shoot the cover feature at their headquarters. So you won't have to fly back to New York. I arranged transportation, but I can't exactly find a place for you to stay... Do you have any contacts?" she left off, expecting me to bombard with questions.
