CHAPTER NINE// PUPPY PRINCESS

"So let me get this straight. You're going down to München early, so that you can work, while you're on your vacation?"

"Yup," I answered. I hadn't told Jaq until last minute because of the tension from the visit from my mother.

"And, on top of all that craziness, you're staying with your ex?" Jaq questioned, sitting in the chair in the corner, watching me pack.

"Yeah, something like that."

She shook her head, taking a deep breath. "I can't believe this is actually happening."

"Aca-believe it, because it is," I said, taking a shot at humor. She frowned. Yup, she definitely was always the sane one.

"Well, for that, you owe me."

"Fair enough," I answered, shrugging as I continued packing my things.

"Well, be safe. Happy. Oh! And have fun."

"Will do. All things I'm a natural at."

Jaq rolled her eyes. "No stupid decisions."

"Yes, mother."

"Hey! I'm not that old!"

"Keep telling yourself that."

She scoffed, crossing her arms. "Keep acting like that, and you won't be welcome after you come back."

"Then I'll stay with Aubrey."

"NO!!! That's not allowed!"

"Well then, I have to be welcome at this lovely abode."

She rolled her eyes. "Just finish packing."

"Yes, sir."

She scowled, and I laughed as I packed the last few things. I zipped up my suitcases and stuffed my essentials into my purse.

"Toothbrush and toothpaste?"

"Yes."

"Phone?"

"Yes."

"Passport?"

"Yes."

"Hmm... I guess that's all you need."
