CHAPTER SIX// EARTH TO WILLOW!

The exact details of how I got to a bed were a bit blurry, but I knew I wasn't at Jaq's house. I woke up in a king-sized bed with rosy colored bed sheets. I yawned, stretching, and sat up. There was a nice light shining through the white curtains, and I entered into a living room, a good aroma appealing to my nose, causing my mouth to water.

"Good morning, sleepy head," Aubrey greeted. She embraced me and kissed my cheek as she continued to make an omelet. I guess that Jaq's house was too far for us at that time of night.

"That is mouthwatering," I said as I grabbed a mug a filled it with hot water that was in a white kettle with a black floral pattern. I added a tea bag labeled as a fruity mix, and leaned against the counter. I was wearing the Adidas track suit from the night before, and a tank top Riley had handed me after.

"Thanks, I hope you like it." Aubrey was always a good chef. She had always made things for the group to try, and baked such good cheese cakes. I was surprised she wasn't a chef or something of the sorts.

"I hope you didn't go out of your way," I warned. I didn't want everyone breaking an arm and leg for me.

"I had all this lying around," she said, brushing it off. She grabbed a plate and loaded the omelet onto it handing it to me with a fork. She served herself next and shepherded me to the counter.

"You always have ingredients lying around," I answer.

"Exactly, so it wasn't a problem," she replied, giving me a cheeky grin.

I rolled my eyes as I sat down in the barstool, placing my tea mug down. "Guten appetit."

[Bon appetite]

"Guten appetit," Aubrey repeated, and we both dug in.

Over the last few years, I'd been invited to many galas and brunches and things of the sorts, but never have I ever had an omelet this good.

"Aubrey, this is the best damn omelet that I've had, like in my whole life."

"Aww, thanks," she said after swallowing her mouthful.

"You should seriously be owning your own restaurant. This is so amazing."

"It's been a consideration before, but I don't know."

"Why not?"

She swallowed, and suddenly the atmosphere became thick. "Well, I would, but it's expensive."

I frowned. "I know you may not like the sound of this, but hear me out." She looked up and nodded. "I could help--," she immediately opened her mouth to protest, but I held a hand up. "I know that you hate the idea of that, but I would hate it even more if I saw you not live out your dream." She always wanted to cook, and now she was working as an assistant for a corporate business, far from what she wants. "You could pay me back, hell, I'm sure that the whole group would help you."
