Alfred awoke first and realized plainly he stinks. And really could use a bath. He grabbed his dagger and walked outside carefully checking for any zombies. Hopefully in time he can build walls around the area like the villages and city's have to protect him and Arthur. But for right now he had to be on high alert. He walked to the forest area close by and stood there listening for a moment. The suturing of a spring could faintly be heard. He made his way following the sound till he found the spring was not too far from the barn. Maybe him and Arthur could buy seeds to grow crops and use the water from here to keep them alive. Alfred memorized the way to get to the creek and began making his way back to the barn. As he walked in Arthur sat up in bed and looked down at him sleepily.

"Morning love." Arthur mumbled.

"Mornin!" Alfred called back. "Arthur do you know how to make baskets?" Alfred asked.

"Yes why?" Arthur questioned.

"Water tight ones?" Alfred asked again.

"Probably a few might be if I'm lucky but it's easier to just make a clay pot for that." Arthur continued.

"Alright then we'll try to buy one later!" Alfred said happily.

"Right just give me a minute to get down." Arthur called.

He climbed down the ladder and walked to the horses outside. He coxed two of them to come with him then threw some old blankets over them and the bag pouches. Holding them by the mane he laughed. "I hope you can ride bare back." Arthur clipped his cape over himself as Alfred gave him a puzzled look.

"What?" Arthur asked.

"Nothing but does the cape have the vampiric crest?" Alfred asked.

"Yeah why?" Arthur questioned.

"Leave it I'll give you my jacket." Alfred said sternly.

"What? No! I can't!" Arthur said with his voice raising.

"I don't care leave it!" Alfred growled.

Arthur was taken aback by Alfred's outburst and slowly pulled the cape off.

"I'm sorry it's just if someone saw we could get in trouble. I'm sorry." Alfred mumbled walking up to Arthur wrapping his arms around him. "I can't lose you."

"I'm sorry. I'll leave it." Arthur said softly. As he put the cape inside Alfred gave him his jacket. It fit him rather large but it did the trick.

Arthur walked up to the chestnut mare while Alfred walked to the cream colored palomino mare. They led them out of the barn and and shut the doors carefully. Then got on the horses and rode to the closest village.

As they strolled into the town not much noticed was given to them. Alfred hopped of his mare and walked beside it while Arthur stayed on his. Suddenly it ran threw Alfred's mind they didn't make fake names for themselves...

"Arthur." Alfred said threw their telepathy.

'Yes?'

'We forgot names..'

'Shoot your right!'

'Call me Allen alright?'

'Alright. Bloody hell I look like I girl don't I?'

'Yes.. Sorry about that.'

'No.no it's fine I guess just call me Alice.'

'Alright.'

Arthur and Alfred came to a shop at the local bazar and began browsing threw things.

"Alice." Alfred called.

"Yes love?"

"Here." Alfred said softly handing her some money. "Go buy some seeds and pots please."

"Alright I'll be back soon." Arthur said softly and walked off his horse trailing behind him. Alfred walked around a bit till he saw a fabric shop.

"Hello sir." The owner said happily. "What can I get for you to day?"

"Do you sell capes by any chance?" Alfred asked.

"Yes sir." The man smiled.

"Do you have a emerald green one by chance?" Alfred asked.

"Let me check. It's for a lady I'm guessing?" The man asked with a smile.

"Yes sir." Alfred said back grinning.

A few minutes later the man walked back holding the most beautiful cape ever. The outer fabric looked forest green while the in side was ivory green and emerald green swirls on both sides. "That's 30 shillings sir."

"What?" Alfred said amazed.

"Go get that girl." The man smiled.

Alfred thanked the man and placed the cape his horses pack. He then went around buying different things like breads and such. Till it was almost about a hour till sundown.

'Meet me by the gates' Alfred told Arthur.

'I'll be there in a moment.'

Alfred waited for Arthur to come by and with they they rode back home together with a fresh new set of stuff.

The ride back was full of happy conversation about how Arthur couldn't get a actual bed but got sheets and pillows so it won't be too bad. Alfred just smiled the way listening to Arthur go on and on just waiting till they got home so he could give him the surprise.

As Arthur and Alfred got to the barn the sun had begun setting. They carefully opened the doors too the barn and lead the horses inside. Alfred shut the doors as Arthur began taking stuff out of his horses pack.

"Artie!" Alfred said happily.

"Yes love?"

"Close your eyes!"

"What why?"

"Juuuuusssssstttttt doooo iiiiit."

"Fine." Arthur groaned.

As he closed his eyes Alfred grabbed the new cape he had bought him and slipped it over his shoulders. Then latched the button in place.

"Okay open them." Alfred said smiling.

Arthur opened his eyes to see the green cloak wrapped around him. It was just beautiful. He moved it and twirled a bit to see all of it. Tears looked ready to escape his eyes.

"Alfred." Arthur said softly. "Thank you!"

"Anything for you." Alfred said softly as he kissed him on the forehead. A blush spread across the smaller man.

The as Alfred began unpacking the stuff they bought as Arthur started cleaning up the barn some. After awhile they began placing all the stuff into shelfs and cabinets. Once they finished Alfred climbed up to the loft and gathered up the hay tucking it under the bed sheets to create a mattress. He then stuffed the pillow cases with hay and placed the blanket Alfred owned over it all. Once both of them finished doing their respective things they crawled up to the loft and slept soundly with each other in their arms.
