"They are evolving Alfred." Arthur began. "It won't be long till they start hunting living animals as well as dead ones."

"I know. We need to build a wall or move. Soon." Alfred continued.

Alfred awoke to a sleeping Arthur in his arms. Smiling softly he placed a kiss on Arthur's forehead and carefully slipped out of the others embrace. Walking outside he checked and noticed they all left. A smile spread across his face as he walked out to check on the field they set up.

Thankfully due the fact they only eat flesh the crops were left alone. Alfred began weeding and watering the crops. He became so engrossed in it he failed to hear the soft steps of something sneaking up on him till two slender arms wrapped around his waist.

"Morning." Arthur cooed snuggling up to Alfred's bare back.

"Mornin' what are you doing up?" Alfred asked.

"I woke up and you were gone. Why did you leave me?" Arthur asked.

"I'm sorry I checked to see if the zombies were still there. When they weren't I decided to come and work the field." Alfred said apologetically.

"It's okay love." Arthur smiled. "Do you need any help?"

"No I've pretty much finished. Would you like to do something today?" Alfred asked.

"You said something about ether moving or building a wall. Can we go to town to find out if there's a place we can buy? Or go into the forest and find material for a wall?" Arthur explained.

"I'd say lets work on a wall right now. We don't have the money to buy a house yet and we can get it by working here." Alfred said.

"Alright let's go." Arthur said happily.

The two first went back inside to grab some supplies. Arthur grabbed a basket and placed a container of water in it along with some dried meat. He figured Alfred hasn't eaten today and yesterday he didn't eat much ether. Arthur's mind drifted to when he would feed from Alfred. The blood was so good unlike anything he ever tasted growing up. His hand wondered to the two small marks on his own neck. Shaking his head he pushed the thoughts to the back of his  mind. He's no longer being used to feed.

Not for that reason at least.

As Arthur attempted to gather his thoughts Alfred grabbed an old axe he found in the barn some gloves and rope. As he was looking around he found a old saw he could use on the wood once they got back.

Turning he saw Arthur looking off into space as a smile spread across Alfred features. Just looking at the smaller man was enough to brighten his day.

"Ready to go Artie?" Alfred called snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Hm? Oh! Yes sorry." Arthur apologized.

Alfred walked up wrapping his arm around Arthur.

"You know you should really put a shirt on." Arthur said flatly.

"What don't you like my muscles?" Alfred smirked as he flexed.

"What muscle I see chub?" Arthur teased.

"It's not chub." Alfred pouted.

"I know." Arthur laughed as he gave Alfred a kiss on his jaw as he traced lines along the muscles causing a shiver to run down Alfred.

"Maybe we can-" Alfred began.

"Shirt or were not going to at all." Arthur said flatly as be began walking to the barn door.

"Fine." Alfred grumbled and climbed up the loft to grab a shirt.

Left with his own thoughts Arthur panicked silently. In a few days will be when Allistor used to drink from him. The need will kick in again. He shivered at the thought of last time Allistor didn't feed from him. His body went threw withdrawal from not having the vampiric venom running through him.

"Artie?" Alfred called bringing him back to reality.

"Oh yes love?" Arthur said softly.

"Let's go yeah?" Alfred smiled as he tossed Arthur his dagger.

"Yes. Of course."

The two darted through the woods together. After some time Alfred found some large trees and began to cut them down. Once they had fallen Arthur wrapped parts up with rope so they could tug them out of the forest. Once they had cut down three or four Arthur suggested they'd stop.

"Artie don't worry." Alfred laughed. "I've got this handled." Quickly Alfred picked up two of the massive pieces of lumber and placed them on his shoulders.

"How can you?" Arthur began.

"It's always been like this. When I was a kid I picked up a buffalo and swung it around. Scared the hell out of my mother." Alfred laughed sadly at the thought.

"Presio." Arthur said clearly and the back of the logs levitated.

"Woah! How did you do that?" Alfred asked curiously. "I thought only humans could use magic?"

"I don't know." Arthur shrugged. "I've always had this power. Mother would take me to see this human woman she knew from childhood. She taught me to control my powers. Now I can use them for things like this."

"Do your people shame you for your powers?" Alfred asked.

"No. They thought it was incredible." Arthur said happily. "Why would your people shame you if you have magic?" Arthur asked.

"It makes you different. Different is bad. It's best for everyone to be the same because everyone is scared of change. They are scared of being different." Alfred explained.

"Do you have powers?" Arthur questioned.

"Yes. But they are weak. I was never taught. My father. He believes in the church and the church says magic is bad. So it was kept hidden. Mother didn't want me to be burned at the stake by my own father." Alfred said softly.

"He wouldn't."

"He would." Alfred said flatly.

Shock spread across Arthur's face. He knew his father disliked him but never enough to kill him. "I'll teach you." Arthur said in a much more uplifted tone.

"Really?" Alfred asked.

"Really love." Arthur smiled.

The two looked to see the sun was beginning to set. Arthur levitated the two other logs and they made their way back to the barn. Leaving the wood on the floor under the loft and climbing up. Alfred pulled his shirt over his head and laid down on their bed. Arthur laid next to him nestled in his broad strong arms. Together they slept peacefully. Not knowing what was to come for them.
