Chapter 4

5am. I grunted, turned off my alarm, got ready, and drove to school. When I got there, Shannon and Andrew were already there.

"Hey Kaitlyn!" Shannon yelled.

"Hey" I replied.

I went over to where they were standing.

"I have to tell you guys something." I said.

"Well, what is it?" Andrew asked.

As soon as he said that, Kyle walked in and came over to us.

"Ok, did you guys see me talk to someone yesterday?" I asked.

They all nodded no.

"Ok, so I met this guy yesterday. He payed for my drink and gave me his number. He was so adorable, his name's Adam." I said in excitement.

Kyle laughed, Shannon gave me the look like she always does when I'm talking about a guy, and Andrew smiled. I showed them some of the texts from last night.

"Oh wow" Kyle said.

It was the end of the day, so we went to the gym to go play basketball. Yes I play sports. I play basketball, and softball. What I didn't notice was that my phone fell out of my pocket. And Shannon knows my password. Oh god. I found her outside the gym with my phone. I snatched it back not looking at what she was doing, and went back in the gym.

We were playing for about thirty minutes when I saw someone walk in. It was Adam. How did he know I was staying after school? Shannon must've texted him or something. He knows I play basketball seeing that we got to know literally everything about each other. Well, I didn't tell him about Bo yet, I'm gonna wait on that.

"Mind if I play?" Adam asked.

We all agreed. I didn't know he was so good at basketball. He made almost every basket he shot. He tried to dunk, but he failed and we were all laughing.

After about an hour, everyone left. It was just me and Adam. We were both sweating.

"So you know my birthday is coming up right?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied.

"I was thinking, I'm having a little party at 6pm on Friday, I was wondering if you would like to come." He said in wonder.

I mean, besides Kyle and Andrew's parties, I haven't been to a guys party since fifth grade. This could be the start of something. I mean we are friends after all. And he's so cute.

"Yeah sure I'd love to."

He smiled right after I said it.

"Awesome." He replied.

We talked for a while until it was almost 4:00.

"Hey you want me to come pick you up tomorrow to go to my house?" He asked.

"Yeah that'll be great." I said smiling.

He smiled back. We said goodbye and I drove home. I got back and went to the doorway where Brad was standing.

"Where've you been?" He asked.

"At the gym playing basketball." I replied.

He smirked.

"Mm yeah ok." He said.

I smiled, hugged him, went inside and started on my homework. I can't believe I'm going to Adam's house tomorrow and his party on Friday. I'm so excited.
