Chapter 3:An unusual internship offer

Riley's POV

I climb up the fire escape to my room in the attic. Zane probably covered for me again and said I was at his house studying all night long. Knowing Daddy and Papa they probably assumed that I was actually on a date. As if. Marcus and I broke up weeks ago. I don't date right now. I hop in the shower and put on some clean clothes. I still have an hour before class starts, which gives me time for breakfast with my siblings as well as Daddy and Papa.
I arrive downstairs to see Daddy and Papa with huge grins on their faces. Daddy speaks up first. "So Riley, how was your date last night???" Papa smacks his arm playfully. "Oh quit teasing her. Honestly she's gone for one night and you assume that she's with a boy." He turns his attention to me. " Anyway Riley, a couple of men stopped by yesterday looking for you. Something about a job offer. One of them said he was a federal agent." I wonder if it was those guys in suits with the weird dialect who ambushed me? "Did these guys talk funny? Wear suits?" I ask. "One of them wore a black suit and sunglasses. The other wore a button down shirt and khakis. They spoke normally to me."
Must not be the same guys. Papa hands me something. "It's his card, but he said he'd be back tonight. So come straight home from school today." I quietly snap a picture of the card on my new tPhone and send it to Donnie. I get a txt back almost immediately. "Riley, be cautious around that guy. His sole purpose in life is to rid the world of aliens and not the illegal kind. He can't know that you know me. - Donnie."  

I walk into class and see Zayn sitting there waiting for me. "Riley! Where the hell where you last night?! I had to cover for you! I didn't know if you were hurt or missing or what!" Every single head in the room turned in our direction. "It's alright guys, we got separated at a party last night that's all." I turn to face Zayn. "Don't you think you could have talked to me about it outside?! You caused a scene! Now our classmates are going to assume the worst! Oh and fyi someone is coming by the house tonight and might have the ticket to my internship I need to graduate." He just stares at me, or that's how it appears to be until I see the new transfer student Xander walk by. Oh boy he's in love. It's going to be a long day...

I arrive at home to see the man Daddy and Papa were talking about in the kitchen. He has a friend with him. African American, with glasses wearing a button down shirt and khakis and a lab coat. These two must be Agent Bishop and his scientist coworker. The man in the suit called Bishop stands up to greet me. "Hello Riley. Let's cut to the chase shall we? You need an internship for school and have access to something I want. Don't even try and deny it. One of Dr Stockman's mouser cams spotted you with your friend Donatello. If you eventually bring me Donatello and his friends this internship could become something permanent. Do we have a deal?"
