Chapter 4: Internship or Donnie?!?!

Riley's POV

Damn it! I've finally found an internship for school but unfortunately for me, it means I would be working for a paranoid federal agent who is obsessed with keeping aliens away from Earth and apparently hunting down Donnie and his family. How do you choose between school and friends?! Knock-Knock! "Riley! It's Papa! Be ready cause I'm coming in!" He walks in the room and sits down on my bed. "Sweetheart are you alright? You've been locked in your room since Agent Bishop left." I turn around to face him, tears in my eyes. "No! I'm not ok! I finally get an internship opportunity only to find out it has a catch! He wants me to betray my new friend Donnie and his family. I don't know what to do." Papa smiles. "I don't get it, why are you smiling?! This is a disaster! I can't betray Donnie he's my friend." He laughs. "Sweetheart you have your answer already. It's obvious that you have feelings for Donnie. Don't worry about the internship offer there's bound to be someone who has an internship open. Ask Zayn if his boss has room for one more. I'm going back downstairs. Don't stay out all night tonight." He winks at me as he walks away.

Third Person POV

"Damn it! Why can't I get this formula right?!" Donnie was in his lab working on retro mutagen and it wasn't going well. It wasn't just the retro mutagen that was bothering Donnie. Riley. It wasn't that she was a bother to him, it was the fact that he couldn't get her off his mind. Everything about her was enchanting, her cocoa powder colored skin, her brown eyes, the way she dressed, but most importantly that hair, a beautiful pale pink that's almost purplish. He just couldn't concentrate on anything right now!
"That's it! I can't focus in here especially since she was in my room last night! I'm going to see Leatherhead and ask him for help!" Donnie started to head out of the lair when Leo stopped him. "Donnie where are you going? Out to see Riley?" He rolled his eyes. "No, I'm going to see Leatherhead if you must know. I'm working on a batch of retro mutagen and I can't focus in my lab. I need to get my mind off of Riley." A/N: In this series Leatherhead is based off his 2003 version. With that he was out the door to Leatherhead's "sanctuary".

"Anyway that's why I came here to work, well that and I could always use your help." Leatherhead smiled. "Donatello my friend, let me give you some advice. Now I'm no expert in love, but I know it when I see it. Your species only has one mate per lifetime just like with swans. I believe this girl is your mate. You need to tell her how you feel. Now then, who's DNA are we making this for?" Donnie got nervous hearing that. No one knew who he was making the retro mutagen for but it was Riley who inspired him to make it. "W-well you s-see Leatherhead, that's where it gets complicated. It's for me and my brothers. After I met Riley I decided making a special formula would come in handy. The tricky part is making it last a certain amount of time without having to make more in the process. I need it to be able to do that, recharge itself and be in a compact form. It would be nice if-" Donnie! Help me! "I think that was Riley she's in trouble. Hang on I'm coming!"

Riley's POV

"Wake up you miserable little punk! Honestly I don't even like the idea of having you around. But Bishop gets what he wants.Usually." Someone mutters. I'm in an area that I don't recognize at all, it looks like an operating room and a lab combined. How did I get here?! Then it hit me, I had left the house to see Donnie but I was approached by Stockman instead. I remember trying desperately to get away ultimately being injected with something, probably a tracker. Just then Bishop enters the room. "Well Riley are you ready to give up your friends or am I going to have to hurt you?!" No! Donnie! Help me! "I'll never betray my friends!" Donnie better come soon! I need to tell him how I feel!
