Ariana's P.O.V.

My day had been horrific. Sweat was dripping down my forehead, and blood was splattered all over my body.  We had circled around from the back of my fence through the woods.

None of us knew were we were going, just that we needed to find shelter quick because there were still probably a couple of walkers on our trail.

It was getting dark quickly, and Ariel was scared of the dark. I did not want walkers coming after us because of her cries.

I was terrified of going into any of the abandoned houses, because I knew something undead was in every one of them.

After making it out of the damp woods, we were on a street of dusty houses.

I spotted one that didn't look too bad, and decided it was our best bet.

I stopped everyone in their tracks.

"Let's stay in that house. It's the best bet we have, and we need shelter fast. Calum, get your knife out and help me make sure the place is safe. Luke, you wait on the porch and watch Ariel. Keep your knife out and don't let your guard down!" I instructed in a hushed town.

Calum and Luke quickly nodded, following me towards the house.

Calum and I approached the door, and I with every creak we made I wished more and more time would stop. I wished things could go back to the way they were. I wish I could perform concerts on stage every night in front of my fans.

But, that just can't happen.

I turned the handle, surprised to find it unlocked. I raised my knife in the sky along with my flashlight, preparing myself for the worst.

"Calum, cover me."

"Got ya."

Once I walked inside, a walker was straight in my face. It wheezed the stench of decay right into my face. Without a thought, I stabbed it in the head and kept alert for anything else in the room. Calum and I searched every corner of what appeared to be a living room, then moved onto another room.

We were already onto the second floor when I opened a closet, and a drooler was waiting for me on the other side. I slammed the door shit and locked it.

"Shít..." I heard Calum breath behind me.

It was one drooler. If we trapped it in the closet and cleared the rest of the house, we would be safe for the night.  All I cared about was right now.

I mean, droolers have to eventually dry out someday, right? This one looked pretty small for a gusher.

"Look, Calum, let's clear the rest of the house and secure the gusher in it. If we find anymore zombies we either kill it or trap it because we don't have time to search for shelter. Maybe we could even clean Ariel. She just better not open any doors we have secured, so keep an eye on her."
