Dammit. Why do I have to be so stupid? Why do I have to make things about me all the time? Why did I let my jealously get the best of me?

I should've known. Luna never seemed like that kind of girl, I had no right to say any of those things about her. Her boyfriend too! I'm such a fucking idiot.

I kick my bag from inside of the dugout. We won our first game here, but the whole time, all I could think about was Her.

I knew she was watching the game because I saw her sitting from inside the commentators' box.

"Jaden and I are going to go back to the grove to take a nap before the west game...do you want to walk back with us?" Adam asks me with his bag already slung over his shoulder.

I shake my head "I need to go to headquarters to ask a question"

"Okay see you at the game then" he tells me and then walks out of the dugout.

I'm going to ask Gwen if she can pickup flowers or something for me because I'm not aloud to leave the complex or the grove without a parent signature and I'm not asking my parents to take me to buy flowers. Too many questions. Luna always talks about how much she loves Gwen, so I'm hoping Gwen will do this not for me, but for Luna.

My palms are slightly sweaty as I push open the doors to Gwen's office due to my nervousness.

"How can I help you?" She asks me as I walk in.

"I need a favor...I was wondering if you could buy me a sunflower" I say and then wait for her answer.

"For what?" She asks me

"I can't really tell you..."

Her face lights up and she sets down her pen "it's Luna! You two have been hanging out a lot"

"We have and it is possibly for her...so can you get me one?"

"You're lucky that I love her...and that there is a flower shop across the road"

"Thank you" I tell her and breathe a breath I didn't know I was holding

"I'll pay you back" I tell her as she gets out of her chair.

"Oh no, if this is for Luna then no charge" she says

I nod and thank her again

"You can wait here if you want...it shouldn't take long" she tells me and then leaves the small office.

She was right. It didn't take her long to buy the flower for me—well, for Luna.

I walk to Luna's door across the hall from my team's room, and placed the sunflower on the floor right in front of the door.

I knock twice and then jog into my team's room.

I set my bag down on my bunk, and I scan the room with my eyes only to see a sleeping Jaden and a sleeping Adam.

Then I hear a knock on the door. I jog to the door and open it only to see Luna holding the flower with a blank expression.

"Did you think a flower would make everything better?" She asks me with her eyebrows furrowed

"I was hoping—"

"Well it didn't" she says and pushes the flower to my chest

I step out of the room and into the hall so we don't wake up Adam and Jaden.

"Luna I apologized..."

"Cole, I get that you didn't mean to say that stuff—that it was all out of jealously or whatever—but you really hurt me. You brought back memories that I was so close to moving on from..."

My mouth is suddenly really dry.

"Im sorry I made you upset, and I'm sorry if I made you cry. Please believe me, I never wanted to hurt you I'm just—"

"—A stupid boy?" She says for me.

"Yes I'm such a stupid, idiotic, dumb, selfish, arrogant, boyish boy" I tell her and a corner of her mouth turns upward.

"I know" she tells me and then I hand her back the sunflower

"Truce?"

She sighs and takes the flower from my hand "I don't know Cole"

I look around the empty hall and sigh realizing I messed up, and I can't ever take back what u said to her.

"I'm going to go then since I'm wasting both of our time" I say and start to walk back to my dorm.

{Luna}

"Cole" I say hoping he will wait. He does "Please don't leave me...I-I don't want to be alone anymore"

He walks back to me and I wrap my arms around his torso tightly.

"I'm sorry"

"I know you are" I tell him, and still continue to hug him "I'm tired"

He looks down at me with a small grin "want to come to my room? It's just Jaden, Adam, and I"

I smile, but shake my head "thank you for the offer, but I'm afraid if someone comes in then they might think—"

"They can think what they want. We know the truth" he tells me

"Sorry Cole, I can't" I say

"Then come to the West game with me" he insists "I'll wake up Adam and Jaden then we can all go and watch it"

"Alright" I agree "will Jaden's friends be there?"

"I think so...do you like them?" He asks me with hoping eyes

I nervously laugh "yeah I guess. They are nice and I don't have a reason to not like them"

"Good" he says and let's out a deep breath "Jaden was all up my ass with questions about if you liked them or not"

Then he slowly grabs my hand and I give him the 'give me a good reason why your holding my hand or let go in 0.3 seconds'

"Relax I wouldn't want you to get lost as we walk to get my teammates"

"I've been here ever summer since I was two...I can walk you to their dorm backwards, with my eyes closed"

"Whatever"

I exchange my number and say goodbye to Christina, Jacey, and Asher, but Gemma is more of a hugger.

"Even though we just met today, I'm going to miss you a lot" Gemma says and pulls me in for a hug.

I smile "me too"

Then she whispers by into my ear "you better text or call me when something gets good between you an Waggs. That's an order"

"Yes ma'am" I say and laugh

"See you soon okay?" She says and then walks away to go with Jacey's parents and the other girls.

"California kicked ass!" Braden says as a group of us are walking back to the grove after saying our goodbyes to Jaden's friends, getting stopped by fans as we do so.

"They were really good" I agree, even though no one can really hear me over the noise.

I've been talking pictures with one hand, and holding onto Cole's hand with my other.

"New England is going all the way this year!"

"LUNA YOU ARE GOALS"

"Alex sign my arm"

"JAKE CUBBLER YOURE SO HOT!!" [a/n: this would be me]

"Cole are you dating Luna!?"

All the random outbursts make me laugh and smile, but the last one made me want to let go of Cole's hand. So I do.

"I'll see you guys at the grove" I say hoping one of them will hear me and I make my way out of the crowd because all I want to do is get in my twin size bed and get good sleep.
