The sunlight brightens the blue room where I've been sleeping these past weeks. I open my eyes and stretch. I feel better now, much, much better. My legs are starting to get stronger. I can walk not limp. I decide to take a walk in the woods for a little exercise before breakfast.

I find myself entranced at how vast the the jungle is. The singing of the birds up on the trees let me look up in awe. The trees are so high, I could feel my head spin from dizziness. I continue walking until I reach a small stream. I follow it up the hill to a waterfall. The rocky cliff where the water flows down forms a small pool at the bottom.

I fold my pants up and dip my feet in the cool water. Unlike the water at the beach, this is cold. I shiver a bit as the water reaches just below my knees. As I swim, I remember my dream just the other day.

Could someone out there be looking for me? Is the owner of that voice, that girl, be missing me?

I hear a growl from above the falls. A gigantic bear, with blackish fur and a lighter brown on its face. I slowly back still facing him. It scrabbles down the rocks towards my direction. I hear a yell come out my throat as it lunges itself in the water where I am. I scramble to the bunk as fast as I can and run to the woods. I'm not sure how fast I'm running and how far back the bear is.

I tripped on a vine and fall on my face. I turn on my back. A sigh of relief comes out as I realize the bear isn't on my trail. I slowly stand up and continue running towards the house. I am out of breath when I reached the clearing just behind the big white house. I stop, catch my breath and walk in through the back door.

"Renesmee," I shout at the empty house. I look around, in the kitchen, the living room, her room, but she is nowhere to be found. Seth isn't here either.

Then, I hear her voice outside. "That was big, wasn't it, Seth?" I can hear her laugh, "but it's no match for the both of us." They enter the back door and I go meet them.

"Renesmee, I just saw a bear in the falls, it's..." I don't continue. I see her ruffled hair, her shirt was torn at the side and she looks like she just rolled down the hill or something. "What happened to you?" I go near her. I turn her around to see if she is hurt somewhere.

She laughs at the worried look on my face. "I'm not hurt. I'm fine. But, are you?", she laughs again.

I narrow my eyes. "I just saw a bear," I say, carefully eyeing her. She is obviously laughing at me. "What's so funny?" I finally ask.

"You," she points at me and holds her stomach as she laughs even louder and drops on the floor, curling her legs towards her.

"What?", I start chuckling, too. I don't know why I did, but her laugh just made me chuckle.

"You scream like a girl."

"Huh? I don't." Did she see me run away from that bear? My cheeks slowly turn red. I pull her up from the floor. "What are you talking about?"

"You..." laugh, "You ran and screamed like a freakin' girl," laugh...."You should have seen your face," she points at my face and I frown.

"You were there?", my eyes glare at her.

"I'm sorry," she breathes in deeply to stop herself from making another titter.

"Were you?" I held her shoulders and shook it gently. How could she laugh at a situation like that?

She nods her head and looks serious as she sees my annoyed and confused face. "Yeah, sorry. I heard you scream. Seth and I were nearby and so we ran towards the sound and saw you getting out of the water. And..."

"You fought off the bear?" I look at her disheveled hair and clothes and my confusion turned to worry. "How could you do that? It could have hurt you. Seriously, Renesmee, that's just plain dangerous," my voice becomes louder.

Her face looked baffled at my sudden outburst. "I...I...no...Seth fought it.." she says looking at me questioningly. "Anyway, why are you shouting at me," she roared.

Why did I? "I'm sorry. You just made me worried there for a minute...I thought," I pointed at her clothes, "I thought you got hurt." I sit on the couch in the living room and rest my head on my hands.

"Oh..." she covers her torn shirt with one hand and fixes her hair with the other shyly. "I'll just go ... uhm...change. I'll make breakfast after." She trots to her room with her head bent.

____

"So, isn't there anything you remember?" She asks me over breakfast.

"Uhm...actually, I had this dream just the other day..." I hesitate, look up at her, and she just urges me to continue. "It's just a voice, though. A woman's voice. Calling a name..." I look again, "she was shouting 'Mark'," I whisper but she hears.

Her brows crinkle at the middle and she looks down as if trying to remember something.

"What is it?" I ask. "Do you think it's my name?"

"I don't .... I don't know," she looks down at her food and start stirring the spoon around the bowl.

"What? Don't I look like a 'Mark'", I gave her a questioning look.

"No. I mean, yes," she stands up and puts her bowl in the sink. "Are you done yet?" she asks pointing at my half-eaten cereal.

"Ah...yeah," I say, even though I still wanted to finish all of it. I hand the bowl to her. I can see something is bothering her. I sit on the counter beside the sink. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing,...uhm...should I call you Mark then?" she looks up at me.

"I don't know, but I like the sound of it," I smile at myself. I like it better than her calling me 'hey' all the time. "What do you think?"

She starts washing the bowls. "Yeah! Mark's fine." She doesn't look at me, just concentrates on what she is doing.

"At least, it's a start, right?" A start on the search of my real identity.

She nods.

"Come on, say it. Call me 'Mark'," I tease her, poking her sides. She gets ticklish there.

She steps away, but giggles.

"Say it," I get down from the counter and tickle her from behind. She laughs and splashes water at me.

"Stop it," she yells, but I continue moving my fingers to her neck. "Ok, ok.... MARK!"

Somehow, when I heard the name come out of her mouth, it sounded ... me. There was a tag in my heart I couldn't explain.

"Yeah, I'm Mark."
