"Come with me," I say, more confidently.

She looks at me as if I'm out of my mind. "Mark, I...I can't." She takes one hand away and touches her forehead, massaging her brows.

"Why not? I can't leave you all alone here."

"I've been living here all alone for three years, Mark. I think I can handle myself." She stands up and paces the room.

"But I want you to come," I do. I want her beside me. For more than a month I've stayed here, I know I've grown feelings for her. I can see from her actions, she has feelings for me, too. "I want you with me." I say softly.

"Why, Mark?" She faces me, her face puzzled.

"Why not?" I ask her back. "Ren," I lace my fingers on hers. I raise my other hand and cup her cheek. I lean closer. "I want you with me," I say again. She looks up straight at my eyes. My heart beats faster. I can hear her uneven breathing. I lean closer until my lips are touching hers. I pause to see if she falters, but she doesn't. I part my lips and took hers in mine. She slowly closes her eyes and kisses me back. I move my hand on her nape and pulls her closer, deepening the kiss.

Just as quickly, she pushes me back. "I'm sorry," she says and runs to her room.

"Ren, Renesmee," I run after her but she's already locked the door. "I'm sorry. Can we talk?" I turn the knob and rap on her door.

"Mark, just go." I can hear she's crying.

"Please, just open the door. Let's talk." But, she doesn't.

I go to her room again that night, but it's still locked. I left a tray of food for her on the floor by her door and went in my room.

The next morning, the food was still on the floor. I knock on her door. "Are you awake?" No answer. "You haven't eaten last night. You must be hungry." Still no answer.

I can hear Seth rumbling, she must have let him in last night when I was asleep.

I wake up the next day to a rapping at the door. "Come in," I push the covers down and sat on the bed. Still sleepy, I rub my eyes and stretch.

"You better get ready. The boat would be here after breakfast." She didn't come in.

I'm leaving today. There's a bitter-sweet feeling inside me. I'm excited to be getting out of the island to start looking for my past, yet, it's painful to think I won't be seeing her again. After what happened the other day, I didn't see her. She locked herself up in her room and wouldn't come out. I would hear her at night at the kitchen, but when I went out to see her she's already gone to her room.

I drag myself out the door and into the bathroom to shower and brush. When I get out, the table is already set.

"Come and eat," she talks to me for the first time in two days. Just when I'm leaving.

"Ren," I start, sitting myself on the chair beside her.

"Everything is in that bag," she points at the luggage leaning on the wall at the entrance of the kitchen. "Eat before the food gets cold."

"Ren, about last time." I turn to my side, "I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to. I just..." I stop.

"Just what, Mark?" She looks pissed.

"Look," I take her hands. "I like you. That's all I know. I like you and I don't want to leave you here."

"Mark," I'm surprised she holds onto my hands. "This...Us...Is not gonna work."

"Why not?"

"You're leaving. You have a life out there waiting for you. Having me with you might just confuse you more." She looks at her food and starts putting it in her mouth.

"Ren, will you please come with me?"

"Did you not hear what I said?"

"So, are you saying no?"

"You won't be needing me anymore, Mark."

"So, you're not saying no."

"Mark!"

"Please..." I put my hand on hers as she was about to take her spoon. "I like you. Is that not enough?"

She turns to me with a serious look on her eyes, "No, Mark. It isn't." Then she stands up and locks herself in her room.

I look back at the house one last time before I get in the boat, hoping she would come running out, saying she changed her mind and decides to come with me. "Bye, Renesmee," I whisper.

A man welcomed me and ushered me to a seat. He doesn't talk, he motions for me to hold on. He starts the ignition and off we go.

The island behind us, getting smaller and smaller by the moment, looks so peaceful. I wonder when I'd be coming back here. Memories of this island rush through my head. Nights on bed, with Renesmee beside me taking care of my wounds. Days by the beach, with Renesmee splashing water at me playfully. All those memories are with her. If only I could take her with me.

It only took us 30 minutes to get to the port, but it seemed like hours. A taxi was already waiting for me to take me to the airport.

I check my passport in the bag. I see a small white envelope tucked in it. I take it out and open it. It's a letter from her.

'Mark,

Three years ago, I lost a lot of people around me. My family, my friends, Jacob, - all gone. Seth is the only one left with me. My life had been lonely, always thinking of the ones I lost. But then you came and everything became brighter again. I felt happy while you were here.

But this is the end for us, Mark. It was just a dream. It's time for us to wake up and start our life in the real world. Start YOUR life, you have a much more interesting one than here with me. You'll see.

Everything is in that envelope. I've arranged your tickets. I've also booked a place for you to live in where you'd be going.

When you get there, I know you would forget about this isle.

Ren'

I don't think I would.
