It was already lunch time and there was no sign of Colton anywhere. I was starting to get really sad. I tried to convince myself that he would show up or that even if he didn't, there was some good reason why he couldn't come. I was trying not to let it get to my head but it was impossible.

I decided to call him at lunch. Maybe if he was sick, I could drive to his house and visit him during lunch? I was willing to do anything in order to see him. And I thought he felt the same way.

At lunch I went into the bathroom and called Colton. Of course there was no answer. It just made me mad because why couldn't he just pick up the phone? I decided to go sit with my friends and have a good birthday. But how was that possible, when Colton wasn't here?

It was ninth period and it wasn't even worth going to art without Colton. If only he was here! It was weird because Rachel Kensly wasn't in art today either. She is the school bitch. Not a lot of people like her. Actually now that I think about it, she hasn't been here at all today either? Maybe there's a cold going around or something?

After school, I got into my car and blasted my music to More than this, one of my favorite songs. I just can't believe Colton didn't show up today! I decided to call again. I wanted to know if we were still going to hang out. The phone kept ringing and there was no answer. Ring after ring.

The phone was still ringing as I turned the corner of Elm Street. I dropped the phone because right then and there I saw Colton. He was holding hands with Rachel Kensly walking towards the movie theatre. This was officially the worst birthday of my life.
