I didn't stand outside his classroom for too long. There were 2 reasons why- one, because that would make me look weird and two, I had to go to my 2nd period. The guilt from ditching my classes wouldn't leave my mind. It constantly told me how this was ruining my attendance record, making me miss important lectures, etc.
My 2nd period class was half way across campus. By the time I arrived at my history classroom, I was considered tardy. All eyes were on me when I came walking in.
Look who decided to show up...
Can't believe she still has the guts to come...
Ms. Jin, our teacher, was in the middle of a lesson when I interrupted. Out of all the teachers I have, she was my least favorite teacher. It wasn't just me, no one else really liked her either. Not only was she strict and mean, she also showed favoritism.
She pursed her lips and looked at me with her beady little eyes. I never liked this girl...
"Sorry I'm late, Ms. Jin. I had to-" I was going to explain how I had to show that guy to his class when she held up her hand, telling me to stop.
"Your excuses will only waste our precious class time," she said. "Go to your seat."
I nodded quietly and hurried down my row to my seat. As I walked past the people, there was a second when our eyes met and in that one second, I heard their thoughts.
There she is... the talk of the school..
She's so pitiful... getting betrayed like that...
I wonder how she's going to survive high school like this..
I looked away and quickly took out my notebook for notes. Ms. Jin continued where she left off on the lecture.
Urgh, today was going to be a long day.

The new guy was in my next period which was Creative Writing. I didn't notice him at first because my eyes were glued on my desk. I didn't want to look up, I didn't want to take the risk of hearing someone's thoughts. Not once have I heard a compliment, every time it was something mean.
People were whispering all around me. I thought they were whispering about me, but I found that I was wrong. They were interested in the new kid.
"Students-" our teacher, Mrs. Park called for our attention. I looked up from my desk, knowing that it would be rude if I didn't.
"-please welcome Benson who had has transferred to our school," Mrs. Park introduced with a friendly smile. I followed her gaze to the person standing beside her and was a bit surprised to see that it was the guy at the field. So his name was Benson...
Although Benson's blank expression did not go away, he tipped his head and gave the class a small courteous nod. He surveyed the classroom and something flickered in his eyes when he saw me. Before I could tell what it was, it disappeared and he started to stare again. I used this opportunity to try reading his mind again, but there was nothing.
The rest of the class was oblivious to what was going on. The girls clapped eagerly at his handsomeness while the guys on the other hand groaned at the competition.
"Quiet down class. Now where should you sit..." Mrs. Park looked around for empty seats. "Benson, why don't you sit over there at the empty desk behind Abbie?" He nodded and went to sit down. I could feel his stares even from behind me. I shifted in my seat uncomfortably.
"Now let's get started," she said as she walked over to podium in the center of the room. "To start off the second semester, we're going to have a project!" She had an excited expression on her face whereas the entire class moaned. "It's a group project. You will be working in pairs." She picked up a stack of papers and started to pass it down the rows.
