A week went by without a single word from the COT and another one was just about to end. Although their silence worries me every second of the day- especially when I'm not by Abbie's side, I have to say, thanks to them, I got to spend more time with her and those moments were the happiest ones of my life ever since Britney left.
But little did I know, a plan had already gone into action and my nightmare was about to become reality.

I tried to pay attention to Abbie's annoyed rants of a teacher's name I couldn't remember but my mind kept wandering elsewhere.
It was tomorrow and I still haven't found the chance to ask her. I just couldn't think of the perfect moment to break the question.
"Are you even listening to me, Benson?" Abbie asked me, breaking me out of my thought train.
Oh, shoot. What was she saying again? Man, I should've been listening. "Yeah, sure I was," I lied. "You were telling me something about your teacher doing something?" I concentrated hard, trying to think of what she said lastly before I zoned out on her, but nothing came up.
"Oh really?" she shot me a doubtful look. "Then which teacher was I talking about?"
"Sorry Abbie. I got sidetracked, I had something on my mind," I smiled apologetically at her.
"It's okay, what's the problem?" she asked in concern. "Does it have something to do with Bobby?"
"No no no, it's just.. do you know what day tomorrow is?" I asked her.
She paused, thinking about my question before answering, "No? What day is it?"
"Tomorrow is the Winter Formal dance, how could you forget?"
"Oh! That...going to dances aren't really my thing anymore," she shrugged and took out an apple from her backpack.
"Why not?" I couldn't think of a reason why.
"You know... with what happened with Calvin and all. Going there will remind me of him even though he was so terrible to me at the end," she explained in a sad voice before taking a bite of her apple.
Urgh, Calvin. Why did she have to bring him up now? I hated the guy so much. He was this close to beating the hatred I had against the COT and Bobby. "Oh come on, Abbie. Forget about him already. He was a cheater who broke your heart, remember?" I sighed.
"Yeah I know, but he was sweet and not a jerk in the beginning of our relationship. I can't seem to erase those memories..." Her voice trails off in reminiscence of their memories together. It made my blood boil with jealousy. I didn't want her to think of him anymore, especially not with me sitting right here.
"Abbie..."
She shakes her head and looks at me. "Yeah? I'm sorry I was just thinking about something."
"Give me the chance to try to replace all the happy memories you have of him with our own," I said with a wide smile. "Go to Winter Formal with me."
The apple dropped from her hands and fell to the ground with a small thunk. She stared at me in a mix of surprise and.. was it horror?
"Wha-what did you ask me?"
"You. Me. Winter Formal," I repeated with a grin. "Come on, it'll be fun. I really want to go with you."
"Benson-" she started to say.
"Please, Abbie?" I interrupted. "Pretty please?"
"Benson-" she tried again.
