(still) Benson's POV

The dull but loud sound of the bell rang throughout the school. Students poured into the hallways, talking, laughing, messing around with each other as they went to their next class. I felt her head move slightly on my shoulder as she slowly began to wake up. I turned my head to the side and looked down at her, waiting for her eyes to open.

When they were open and she saw me, her eyes widened, surprised at how close we were. She quickly took her head off my shoulder and scooted farther down the bench. How could I have fallen asleep there of all places? Did I snore? Was there any drool on my face? She touched the corners of her lips to check for signs of dried up drool.

"You should go to class now," I said as I watched her.

Her fingers stopped on her face as she remembered that she had a class to go to. "Oh shoot!" She got up on her feet and said,"I should get going. Thanks again." She already took a few steps away when I called her name.

"Abbie."

"Yeah?" She stopped and waited for me to continue. What was he going to say? Was there something on my face again?

"Meet me here right after 4th period," I told her.

"Oh, okay sure," she agreed. "Wh-" Why did he want to meet?

"You're going to be late to class if you don't hurry now," I interrupted before she could ask.

"Wh-" She tried again.

I pointed at my watch with my finger.

She closed her eyes, showing her long lashes and let out a sigh. "I'm going now. I'll see you here later then." She hurried away.

"You don't have anything on your face," I half-whispered as I watched her walk further away. She didn't show a sign that she heard me.

◈ ◈ ◈

At lunch (after 4th period)...

Abbie was already at the bench, waiting for me. I pulled her up and started to drag her toward the cafeteria.

"Why are you bringing me there?" she asked, noticing where we were headed. Alice, Calvin, and everyone else was going to be there... if they saw the two of us... together... they're going to ruin my life even more...

"I need you to be there when I do something," I stated without explaining anymore. If she knew what I was going to do, she was going to stop me. "Stop dragging your feet and hurry up."

She didn't stop and continued to drag them. "I don't want to go in there," she whined. "Do you know what they're going to do to me?" They might throw their food at me again... my clothes had so many stains from last time..

"They won't throw food at you, I won't let that happen," I assured. "Just trust me."

"I barely even know you, how am I supposed to trust you?" she asked. That came out too mean... I just wanted to say that I couldn't trust him.. urgh.. I feel bad now.. did I hurt his feelings maybe?

"You'll see that I'm a very trustable person soon." We reached the double doors of the cafeteria. The laughter and screams of the students could be heard through the doors. I tightened my grip on her hand and pushed open the door. I walked us over to the table that was in the center and stopped.

All the noise stopped at once. I could feel eyes on me and Abbie shifted her feet uncomfortably beside me.

"Well well well, who do we have here?" a girl's voice spoke up. "Why isn't it the witch and her spellbound boyfriend?" It was the girl who I seen on my first day here who wore clothes that showed more skin than necessary. Today she was dressed the same way- a tight black dress that tightened around her waist and showed much cleavage.
