Sean drove down the worn out dirt road toward the bonfire site with Caroline riding shotgun. She giggled at Sean's rather impressive speed on such perilous terrain. Noticing her smiling at such events, Sean gunned the engine and slid the back end of the truck around a long right turn before driving through a stream and arriving at the bonfire. He finds a plethora of people who he didn't know drinking like it was the last day on earth. Sean backed his truck up with the tailgate facing the cliff and got out to open Caroline's door. She dismounted with a thank you and grabbed Sean's hand as he shut the door; which caused another onslaught of red faced blushing on Sean's part. They were walking toward the fire pit when Rose and an unfamiliar face greeted them with drinks in hand. "Who's your friend Rosie?" Caroline asked. "Oh, this is Court. Court meet Sean Casey and Caroline Rivia." Rose gingerly replied. Sean shook hands with Court with his unoccupied limb and Caroline cheerily said "Hi Court." Court was one of the guys built like trees that Jamie brought with him to the bonfire night; the only guy that Rose thought wasn't a complete jackass. He was six foot five, 250 pounds and looked like he just got out of a damn truck throwing competition. King Kong didn't have shit on this big bastard. Sean quickly adopted a nickname for Court: Oak. Sean led himself and Caroline to a set of chairs near Rose and the human growth hormone and ordered more booze. Andy and Deeks were, as per usual, drunk and flirting with cheerleaders; rather quite successfully for once. Caroline could hold her liquor pretty well, but not on Sean and Rose's level. Caroline, much like Sean, enjoyed Guinness; except she preferred Carmel dark Guinness, as Sean liked stout. "So what happened to Matt, Rose?" Sean asked quizzically. "Ah he was just fuckin' some slag on the girl's basketball team. Some bitch named Laquisha or something." "Well, fuck him, he didn't deserve you anyway" Sean said dismissing the situation. Sean and Caroline were more interested in conversation than getting drunk, so Sean grabbed a few of their drinks and they walked off together towards the cliff. "So uh... are we like a thing now?" Sean asked as they found a flat rock looking out over an alcove on the rocky shoreline. "Do you wanna be a thing?" Caroline retorted nervously. "More than you know Caroline. If you ever get time, ask Rose just how much." Sean said while Caroline sat down beside him. "Well, then we're a thing, whatever thing we are, we're a damn good one." "I'll drink to that." Sean said while lifting his bottle to toast to his newfound relationship. Sean was interrupted mid-toast by Caroline throwing her arms around him and delivering a huge kiss to Sean. His eyes bugged out of his skull at first, but then he embraced her as well and closed his eyes to savor every second of it. As they continued making out in what could possibly be the most unexpected, but, totally acceptable way, Caroline pulled away, grinned at Sean and rested her head on his shoulder as they both stared into the dark blue water. As the sun sank below the horizon, it left a pinkish orange hue to the rest of the night sky. As they lay looking at the disappearing pallet of colors in the night sky, Sean broke the silence, "I love you beautiful." Sean said while pulling her closer to him and kissing her forehead as she looked up at him. This time she was the one that blushed. She kissed his cheek and said "I love you too." while smiling and hugging Sean even tighter. "I don't want this moment to end." Caroline said. "Doesn't have to end." Sean said. "I love you Caroline. I'm not just some fuck boy trying to get in your pants. I'm genuinely interested in pursuing a real relationship with you. I was worried sick that you would resent me for what happened with the prick who won't be named. But I'm glad you didn't, I love you so much Cari, I just don't want to lose you." Sean's rambling was interrupted by Caroline pushing him down to his back and kissing him again. She climbed over him and rested her leg on his while hugging herself close to him and putting her head on his chest. He put his arm around her shoulder and kissed the top of her head while trying to contain his unrequited joy. He finally had her, he was finally
happy. Sean smiled as he stroked her shoulder and she scooted closer towards him. They could have laid back on that rock outcrop till dawn, but Caroline wanted to go back to the bonfire and warm up, so they set out heading back towards the fire.
