With a plan in tow, Sean set off for McDonalds. His usual after school hangout seemed to be awash with emptiness. Few other people, other the employees were there. But Rose was all alone in her corner booth as always. Sean headed inside, ordered and sat with Rose. "Hey Seanie. How ya feeling?" "Alright I guess. But I'm feeling hesitant about spying on Aaron. I mean, I hate him, but I'd feel guilty if we hurt Caroline, call Matt, plans off." "Okay Seanie, on your head be it." Sean's food arrived and he began to eat. Rose began to phone Matt. As she did so, she stepped outside. After Rose had finished her phone call, she came back to find Sean with his head hung down and his hair awash over his massive hands running over his head. "Hey Rose, ya know all those texts and messages we write that stay as drafts for days at a time, that we never send? I feel like that's how this 'thing' between me and Caroline is going. I've got so many things to tell her, but I haven't gotten the chance." "Seanie you sound like your either madly in love or completely blinded by sheer beauty rather than actual attraction on a deeper level." Sean then surly replied, "She is every other thought that goes through my head, Rose. Cute little happenings that I make up involving us. Something as simple as lying back on the hood of my car, holding hands, talking about fuck all. But it wouldn't matter, that's all those thoughts will ever be, unattainable joys that sadden me when I finally snap out of my daydreaming." Rose then stared out the window at the sullen gray rain clouds moving over Middleton and thought about everything Sean had said. She reflected on the unbridled truth of his words. Even though Rose wasn't able to project those feelings at her present state (with her boyfriend) she still couldn't shake the unabridged clarity and trueness of Sean's newfound mysticism. As she continued to stare wildly at Sean, he got up and walked out the door, started his car, and left for home in a cloud of tire smoke. As Rose sat there bewildered, pondering Sean's words, she soon left for home as well.
