Jealousy boils

Peridot's Pov

I sigh as I watch Steven walk away , leaving me with Connie the clod . We stand there in silence once Steven walks away .

 As an attempt to break the silence  I decide to talk . "Uh Connie... I have a suggestion of where we should hide . It should be somewhere were the probability of Stev-" Before I even finish my thought she walks away .

 Anger starts to rise into me . "I wasnt finished!" I walk up to her .

 "I dont care , Im choosing the hiding place ." She tells me .  

 "Dont be ridculous I should choose the hiding place , You barely know where everything is!" I reply .

 "Well why dont you give me a chance to find out!" Connie remarks . 

"If I did that we'd be looking for a place to hide for days!" I laugh and Connie trips me on the ground . "Ow! " I face plant on the ground . 

"UGH! Why does Steven like you?! " She stomps her foot . 

I pause for a moment and then I sit up and narrow my eyes at her . "W-what do you mean??" I mutter . 

"I mean ALL he talks about is you! " Connie throws her arms down. 

"I mean every conversation , he has to bring up you!" She rants

 . I start to blush a little and I start to feel thumping in my chest 'He...He talks about me?' I shake off the fuzzy feelings . 

"How's that my fault!" I yell back  . 

"Steven's suppose to love me! I MEAN...He's...he's "Connie trails off. 

I pause for a minute and look down . 'Love ? Love... ' I start to ponder and the song me and Steven sung pops up in my head .

 "Peridot! Hello! I asked you a question!" Connie's ugly voice brings me back to reality .

 "Answering your questions would be a waste of my time! And arent we suppose to be hiding!? Steven could find us any-" She cuts me off ."Just answer this question! Are you crushing on Steven?" Connie askes me .

"Why would I crush Steven?!!!" I reply . 'Does she really think Im that vile?' I stare at her in confusion . 

"Not like that!" She facepalms and then sighs . 

"Like do you have romantic feelings for him , like a warm feeling when around him , like something that makes you want to become closer to him." Connie explains .

 'Now that I think about it...Do I have these feelings for Steven?...' I start to ponder . 

"What? Please explain" I ask her .

 "DO I HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT TO YOU??? ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH HIM?! " She gets impatient and shouts .

 'Ohhhh...so that what it means' I feel good about figuring it out , then a few seconds later it hits me . 'Im...in love with Steven!?!?' I start to blush .I gulp and then respond

 "WELL YA KNOW WHAT...MAYBE...MAYBE I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM!" I start to storm off .

A few seconds late I bump into Steven.

. "Now whats going on I heard yelling!" He looks upset .

Me and Connie both gasp "How much did you hear?" Connie askes him . 

"All I heard was you guys screaming and shouting! I counted to 200 just to give you guys extra time and I come to find you guys arguing?!" He looks angry .

 "I ask for you guys to hide and become friends , not argue the whole time! WHAT WERE YOU GUYS EVEN ARGUING ABOUT!?" He yells .

 Me and Connie both look at eachother .

 "Steven...I-" Connie starts .

 "No... this was supposed to be fun... I dont know why you guys were arguing but...Find a way to become friends!" Steven walks away crossing his arms , leaving us standing there .
