Peridot Pov

I run into the barn embarrassed .

'Where to hide?! Where to hide?!' I run around the barn frantically until I spot a bunch of boxes in the back and I slide behind those .

I hear Steven's footsteps and I hear him calling my name .

" Peri where are you did I do something wrong?!" I hear him call out .

I don't answer and I hold my breath until I hear him walk away .

' What is wrong with me today!? Ugh I feel like retreating into my gem . Ok ok deep breaths Peridot deep breaths ' I breath heavily in and out .

' Am I going insane?!! Why do I feel so nervous around him all of a sudden... I don't get it!?' My body feels abnormally heated up .

'I-is it from Steven...' I start to process what had happened in the last hour .

'It's when ever he's around I get this feeling...and he's driving me absolutely out my mind...I-I MEAN IT..IT'S DRIVING ME OUT OF MY MIND....' I try to calm down .

' H-He can't see me like this... Not after that out burst... I have to stay hidden... at least until I-I figure out why I feel like this around him...'

I sigh and lean my back against the wall and I wrap my arms around myself .

For a while I just lay there staring at the back of the boxes . 'Steven...'

Steven's Pov

I run into the barn after Peridot .

When I get inside I look around and she's disappeared already .

' Why did she run from me?! Did I do something wrong ?... '

I call out her name as I walked around the silent barn .

"Peri where are you?! Did I do something wrong!" I shout and she doesn't answer that call either . I then try again and call out her name a couple of times after that and still no answer .

' Maybe she ran back outside through the opening in the barn that was destroyed ' I walk out of the barn through the side where Peridot had destroyed .

' Ugh where did she even go that fast .' I walk around the perimeter of the barn but still no Peri in sight .

After about 15 minutes I give up on looking for her and sit in the grass watching the sun set .

' Did I make her feel weird ?... Did I force her to do something she didnt want?! *Sigh* I dont get it...'

I look down at the grass which was flowing freely in the wind .

I feel a pair of hands cover my eyes .

" Guess who!?!" I hear Amethyst snicker . "C'mon Amethyst I know thats you!" She removes her hands and I turn around to see her , Garnet and Pearl standing behind me .

"We're back " Garnet puts her hand on the top of my head . I force a smile on my face .

" Steven what's wrong ?" Pearl comes up to be and bends down so she's looking at me .

" Oh it's... nothing" I try to give them a reassuring smile .

"Steven... I know there's something up . You can tell us ." Pearl insists .

" Pearl Im fine , just need some time to think." I get up and start to walk away .

Pearl looks at Garnet , Garnet shrugs . " Just let him be..."

I sigh and look down at my feet as I walk away towards the fence.

' It's good if the gems dont know about this . I dont want them hunting Peridot down and disturbing her...

Maybe she needs some alone time to think too...'
