''Gimme a break!'' I said '' Im tired''

'' Yeah....so am I actually. Practice is over for today.'' said the head cheerleader and my Best friend, Tyra. ''But before you all leave, I have a very special announcement. Mrs. Bryn, our head, feels that it is time for me to quit as head cheerleader and give this job to someone else. I want all of YOU to choose our new head cheerleader.''

Everyone got all excited because unlike the previous head cheerleaders, Tyra held this position for 6 months. The rule of the school was to change the position of head cheerleader every 2 months but Tyra was the best cheerleader the school ever had and everyone thought she deserved the position for longer. Apparently Mrs. Bryn thought that 6 months was good enough time.

''Everyone write down the name of the cheerleader you want to make head on a piece of paper and put it in this box.'' Tyra said holding out a black cardboard shoe box.

Everyone wrote down a name and put the pieces of paper in the shoe box.

I voted for Veronica, my Bestfriend, Jacob's, sister. She deserved the position according to me. She was the best cheerleader, after Tyra.

Tyra picked up the box after everybody put in their votes. She opened the box and one-by-one picked out a piece of paper.

''Becca'' Tyra read out. She picked out the second piece. ''Becky....so thats 2 votes for Rebecca. 3rd vote goes to....Ashley! 4th goes to...Veronica....5th to...Ashley...6th to....Becca...7th to...Ashley....8th...Ashley...9th Veronica...10th... Ashley!...So I guess the new head cheerleader is....ASHLEY!!!''

Everyone cheered...I was shocked! I didnt think I was popular enough to get majority votes. I was happy though. I won't deny, being the head cheerleader was something that I had always dreamed of.

''Congrats, Ash!'' Tyra said, sneaking up behind me.

''Thanks, Ty! Now can we please go to the cafeteria...I'm really hungry.''

'' Yeah, me too. Jacob must be waiting for us...lets hurry!''

Me and Tyra walk to the school cafeteria and at our usual table, we see Jacob sleeping.

''One'' Tyra says

I follow ''Two''

''THREE!''

We start tickling Jacob until he wakes up.

''AHH!!! STOP!'' Jacob screams. Tyra and I start laughing and I give her a Hi-5. ''Where have you two been? I've been waiting for so long!''

''Sorry, Practice was a little longer today'' Tyra said. '' and guess what?'' Tyra nudged Jacob while whispering something to him, so that I couldn't hear it.

Jacob whispered something back to her.

''Hmm...why do you guys always keep secrets from me?'' I asked them. I obviously saw the nudging and the whispering.

''It was nothing.'' Jacob said. He looked a bit nervous.

''Yeah? Then tell me what the whispering was all about.'' I wasn't gonna let them go that easy today.

''I don't mind telling you but Jay would kill me!'' Tyra said with a smug smile on her face.

''You know what? I don't even want to know. I wouldn't want to interfere between a couple.'' I joke.

''Yuck! Me and Jacob? Thats the grossest thing I've heard in my whole life.'' Tyra said, making a grossed out face.

''Yeah, being with you isn't something I dream of either.'' Jacob said with a poker face.

''Good, Because I always dream of being with you.'' Well that isn't something I said. But trust me, thats something I was dying to say!

Recess was over and me and Tyra went to P.ed, while Jacob went to room no. 35, Hell! aka. Mr. Brown, the creative writing teacher's class.

I might not have had the best friends in high school but they were definitely my best friends and I loved them (maybe I loved one of them a little too much)
