I took an hour to get dressed because I obviously wanted to look perfect for my date.
Jacob came to pick me up from my house and my mom opened the door. I just sat in my room, listening to their conversation.
''Woah! Jacob you look so adorable!" My mom said, teasing him. "You sure did a good job cleaning up for Ashley."
"Well ma'am thats because your daughter is definately worth it."
I rushed down stairs because I needed to make sure I heard him right. Was he actually saying something nice about me?
"OMG! Jacob, are you actually complimenting me?" After all those years of insults this sounded so weird.
"Thats just because your mom's here, stupid."
"Mom! See? This is why I didnt want to go out with him.''
"Ashley, don't lie. You were nothing less than thrilled to go out on this date.''
I looked over at Jacob and i saw a smug smile on his face.
''Mom!'' I gave her a disapproving look. ''Why cant you support me just once?''
"You cant expect me to support a liar can you?"
"Well if the liar is your daughter I would."
" I'm sorry to interrupt but we really need to get going ma'am." Jacob said to my mom.
"Ma'am? since when did you become so formal?" My mom replied.
"This isnt formality, it's respect."
Jacob's gentleman behavior got me worried. He was never like this. in fact he was always the opposite.
"Come on, Ashley. We are getting late."
We stepped out of my house and I had to ask him "What the hell was that?"
"What was what?"
"That! The whole gentleman thing you did inside."
"You'll see." The smug smile back on his face.
I couldnt believe Jacob had been so cheap as to not have booked a car for us! We walked past my whole neighborhood! I was wearing a freaking dress because thats what Jacob had said I was supposed to wear!
"We're almost there" he said.
"Almost where?" we were in the middle of nowhere.
It was dark everywhere. No lights at all. Then Jacob clapped his hands and the lights came on. Fairy lights everywhere. It looked a abandoned fair.
"Horses!!!!" I screamed. I have always loved horses since I was little. Always wanted to ride one but never got the chance.
Jacob handed me a roll of pink cotton candy and took my other hand and helped me get into the horse carriage.
I was still freaked out about the fact that we were the only ones there. Well, us and the person who was drawing the carriage.
"I can't believe you did all this for me!"
"Well, like I told your mother, you're worth it."
We took the carriage ride around the whole abandoned fair and when we got down we started playing at the stalls there. I hadnt noticed before but there were people in the stalls as well.
Jacob won alot, and i mean alot of stuffed toys for me.
I swear to God it wasnt anything less than a fairy tale.
After the games he took me to another area of the fair which i hadnt noticed during the horse ride. It was beautifully decorated with more fairy lights and even balloons. There was a table and two chairs there.
A man in a waiters suit (probably because he was a waiter) came out of nowhere with food in his hands.
"I hope you don't mind. I preordered"
"Nah. Its okay. I like all kinds of food."
After we were done with food we went back to the horse area and he helped me get into the carriage again. We went back home in the carriage.
He dropped me till my door.
"Thanks, Jay. That was honestly the best time I've ever had."
"Im gonna tell Ty that. She'd be so heart broken that she missed all that. She'll ask you for full detail."
"Back to being a jerk I see?"
"Well the night is over. I dont need to be in character anymore."
Such a jerk. A jerk with amazing eyes. His eyes were sparkling because of the street lamp.
He leaned in closer and kissed me on my lips. Then tried to walk away. I held his hand pulled him toward me and kissed him.
My mom switched on the sprinklers to make him leave. She was probably eyeing us through the window. He pulled away and left. I felt incomplete without him next to me.
Why did he have to make me feel so helpless?
Again, short chapter but still... how was this one? I personally feel like this is my best chapter so far.
Do you guys like Jacob or Adam?
