My Trickster (Gabriel x Winchester!Reader)

The door busted open just as you and your brothers hid behind a table in the so called dining room.  Your heart pounded in your chest as you chanced a peek over the small protection the table provided.  You swallowed thickly.  Lucifer was here.

Suddenly, a small gust of wind and the sound of fluttering wings startled you as you hid back down behind the table.  Dean and Sam's heads turned to look behind you.  Your eyes narrowed slightly in confusion before you whisked your head around, only to find Gabriel.

"I'll distract Luci," Gabriel said as he looked at Sam and Dean.  "You two knuckleheads take (y/n) and get out of here."

You were too startled and apprehensive to object to the archangel's idea.  The only word that you were able to get out was a small and weak, "Gabe..."

He shook his head and shushed you, leaning forward to plant a loving kiss on your forehead.  When he pulled away, he gave you a bright smile and said, "Don't worry, cupcake.  I'll be fine.  You just worry about yourself.  Get out of here as fast as you can, and don't look back."

You blinked the stinging sensation in your eyes away before you reluctantly nodded.  Gabriel sent you a quick smile and a nod before he disappeared.  You heard him reappear in front of Lucifer, and you glanced over the table again to see Gabriel holding an angel blade.

"Guys! Get her outta here," Gabriel called behind him, glancing over his shoulder at the three of you.

"C'mon," Dean said, snapping you out of your trance, as he grabbed your arm and tugged on it gently.

You followed Sam and Dean out from behind the table and around the room.  Gabriel saw you three as you emerged from the messed-up table.  He held out his angel blade as he took a stance that said that he was ready to pounce on Lucifer if necessary.  He kept himself in front of you and your brothers, moving with you as you three crossed the room and moved out the door.

Lucifer scoffed, "Over a girl? Gabriel, really? I mean, I knew you were slumming, but I hope you didn't catch anything."

"Lucifer, you're my brother and I love you, but you are a great big bag of dicks," the archangel replied.

Sam and Dean tried to convince you that it was time to go and get the hell out of there, but you wanted to see how this played out. Many moments later after some more talk, Gabriel said something that caught your attention, "Oh, I'm loyal. To them."

Your eyes narrowed in confusion. Who was he loyal to?

"Who? These...so called gods?" Lucifer asked as he gestured to the room.

Though his back was turned to you, you could imagine Gabriel's eyes roll as he replied, "To people, Lucifer. People."

Your eyes widened in surprise.

Lucifer's brows furrowed in slight confusion. "So you're willing to die for a pile of cockroaches? Why?"

"Because Dad was right," Gabriel replied, and you could here the slight smile in his voice. "They are better than us."
