I prowled the streets, in search for a skin tight, red and black, polka-dotted suit, preferably with a super hero still inside...
I growled, angry at her for making me feel this way, and angry at him, for warping my emotions. I didn't even know his name. Hmm... I would have to ask him.
Stop getting distracted, Adrien! I mentally scold myself. I roll my eyes. This is what I've been degraded to... Mentally scolding myself.
I leap across the rooftops, my eyes zeroing in on anything red. I stared across the town, wind blowing through my hair as I crouched on top of a building like a typical superhero cliche. Except... This time I wasn't the super hero... I was the one chasing the superhero.
"What are you doing, Chat?" I mutter, "This isn't the way to go."
Again with the mentally scolding myself!
I stand up from my crouched position.
Aha! I think, lighting up. Me and Ladybug had a meeting spot on top of Marinette's bakery. Maybe she would be there?
It was an unlikely possibility, but the thought that I had a lead was enough to cheer me up.
I quietly leapt across the buildings, my tail trailing in the chilly weather, my black figure barely noticeable against the dark sky.
I see the Dupain-Cheng's bakery, and begin to sprint. I leap across the road, flailing as I'm flying through the air, not at all as graceful as a cat, and land hard onto my ankle.
I roll, and groan, a little bit louder and higher pitched than I would like to admit, clutching my ankle.
Seriously? Now, Plagg? When I'm making a suicide jump, you decide to go crazy?
Of course there was no response to my thoughts... I never knew where the Kwami's went once they got sucked into our Miraculous's... Never really thought-
"OUCH!" I yell, as I tried to shift, forgetting about my ankle.
"What? No cat pun?" A voice says from behind me.
"Ladybug." I sigh in relief. "Wait... Did you see that?"
"Only the aftermath..." She says.
I can't see her face, but I can tell she sounds a bit scared and nervous.
"Don't worry. I'm-"
"Don't say anything. He's probably listening." She warns me.
"How?" I ask, turning my neck, bewildered.
"It's... It's just a thing people do. In the movies?" I hear her hands slap something. She probably threw her hands up into the air and let them hit her thighs.
"Um..." I start, craning my neck to see her, "Wanna help a Chat in need?"
"Oh! Yes!" She says, "Let me just go ask for a first aid kit of something... Don't... Don't go anywhere."
"Wasn't planning on it," I grit my teeth and smile at her, but she can't see me, as I can't see her.
I hear her yoyo extend as she swings onto the ground, and bells jingle as she walks into the shoppe.
I was really feeling a Nutella crépe right about then.
I look behind me, and a power box is directly behind me, a good prop up.
I start scootching my butt towards it, trying to hold my delicate ankle in one place, but occasionally a few shots of pain streak up my leg.
By the time Ladybug comes back up to the roof, I'm comfortably propped against the power box, my leg cradled in my arms.
"Sorry..." She says, winded, "They were a bit surprised when I walked in asking for a first aid kit..."
I tried to contain my smile as she appeared in front of me... But...
"What?" She asks, blushing and smiling a bit.
"Nothing." I quickly say.
"Are you okay?" She says, changing the subject.
"Mm." I grunt, "it hurts but... Not unbearable." I think for a moment, "Why am I the one who is always getting hurt?"
"You're the reckless one." She pats me on my head, and I blink. Why is everyone doing that today?
After examining my foot, twisting it, and me swatting her away like a bug, she declared it not broken.
"Well that's good."
"Mm, it's still hurt pretty bad." She continues. "You won't be able to run, or jump... Just walk... Or more, hobble."
"Oh, well that's just tail-riffic!" I groan.
"You keep icing it." Was all she said, throwing another ice pack at me. Not even an eye roll!
I catch the cold pack, and notice how my ankle didn't hurt as bad when I shifted.
"How are we gonna get the Akuma?"
"The plan's still on." She says, thinking, her chin in the palm of her hand, "We'll just need to make it believable that you captured me..."
She hands me a water bottle and a croissant.
"Thanks." I murmur, taking both, and cracking open the bottle.
"Thank Marinette and her family." She smiles a bit at that.
"Well, thank you, Marinette and her family." I revise.
"Once you're feeling better... We gotta get a move on. It took you long enough to find me, now we have to jump up a notch; work faster, get his Akuma."
"Let this cat use his claws, and it's in the bag." I smile, deviously.
