I could feel the rage trying to seep into my heart, but I brushed it away, taking Chat's hand, and squeezing it tight, giving him comfort.
I filled my mind with images and memories of my family, my friends, and Tikki.
When Chat had said that hatred was dominating, it made me think of something.
What if hatred wasn't dominating, and what if we thought so much about love and happiness that it pushed away the hatred, and reversed the Akuma's powers, turning hatred into love.
I looked into Chat's eyes, and smiled the brightest smile, letting him know I loved him. We could easily fight this guy together.
"Okay, Latred... Let's go!"
Chat leapt out of my grip, and onto Latred, trying to swipe away his necklace.
I stayed back at a distance occasionally swinging my yoyo at him when Chat managed to restrain him, holding back his arms so I could get a clear shot. No use.
I wasn't as good as Chat at hand to hand combat, and liked to keep my distance, coming up with different strategies, using my Lucky Charm, and the element of surprise...
That's it! I though, enthusiastically.
While Chat was crawling all over Latred, and myself gigglng a bit, I managed to step away from the fight, and throw my yoyo up into the air, yelling the magic words:
"Lucky Charm!"
The yoyo spun in the air for a moment, before a flash of light, and an object dropped into my outstretched arms.
The yoyo fell limply to the ground as I stared at the object.
A giant magnet?
Well there were a bunch of different uses for that, but one stuck out to me, the Akuma possessed metal necklace flashing red and spotted.
"Yes!" I smile, pumping my fist into the air. "Chat! I've got it! Get him to loose his hold on the necklace!" I yell over to the two males fighting.
Chat grunts in a form of a reply, and Latred yells, grabbing Chat from off of his back, and throwing him into the ground.
"Me-ouch." Chat grumbled, tears streaking his mask, with his casted arm splayed out, and his ankle bent in an odd direction.
"Chat!" I yell, bending down to pick up my yoyo.
A new wave of rage pounded into me, and I forgot to deflect it with Love.Stupid cat for trying to fight him! He deserves-
No! I love Chat! He's my friend!
Are you sure he's your friend? Are you sure he wouldn't leave you to die?
Stop... I plead.
If he's your friend, then why hasn't he told you his identity?
I haven't told him mine! I mentally yell back at myself.
He doesn't trust you. If he doesn't trust you, then why are you helping him? Leave him. Let Latred take his Miraculous. He doesn't deserve it!
"Stop!" I finally scream outloud, tears pooling out of my eyes. Dark thoughts and images were running around my head, and I didn't like it, it wasn't right.
Chat's eyes went wide as saucers, but Latred just laughed out loud.
"I told you it would be fun to see you break." He whispered.
Inside my head, anger was banging around. Grudges I hadn't thought of in years resurfaced, only fueling my anger more.
"Stop." I said, weakly, nausea taking over my senses.
This isn't right. Is all that was playing in my head, over and over and over and over.
"Ladybug!" Chat yells at me, shaking me out of my funk, my eyes focusing on him.
"Stay strong." Was all he whispered, and I could barely hear it over the howling of the wind.
When had it gotten so cold and dark?
"Stop... Please! What's the matter with you?"
Latred began to laugh, looking up at me, "What's the matter with me??" He asked, laughing louder and louder with each second, "What's the matter with me-"
He didn't even get to finish his sentence as I swung my yoyo towards his hands, catching him by surprise, making him drop the necklace.
I gripped the giant magnet with two hands, and pointed it at the necklace.
It slowly began to move closer, picking up speed with every second.
Latred was cradling his hand, rubbing it furiously. He growled, looking up at me, and then down at the necklace. He leapt at the necklace, but not before I could snatch it up, and toss it to Chat, calling out:
"Care to do the honors, Kitty?"
"With pleasure..." Chat purred, mimicking the way Latred talked. "CATACLYSM!" He yelled, propping himself up on his elbow, and slashing his hand across the necklace.
"NOOO!!" Was all Latred could get out before falling to his knees, sobbing.
I jogged over to Chat, and the black butterfly emerging from the deteriorated necklace chain.
I started swinging my yoyo in a circle, and as the butterfly began to take flight, changed direction, and caught it in my opened yoyo.
"Gotcha.." I murmur.
I roll the yoyo up to me, and slice open the closed yoyo, a new, white butterfly emerging, and flying off.
Chat Noir smiled at me from the ground.
"Let this butterfly be a message to Hawkmoth... Even his toughest Akumas can be defeated."
"Bye, bye, butterfly." Chat whispered.
