Chapter 16: Why Are You Here?
Dylan's POV:
It had been six months. Six whole months since I had lost the person I had loved with all my heart. The one who got away. It was all my fault though. I had no one else to blame but myself. I'm slowly loosing all hope but my wolf is driving me to look for my mate. I need to find her. I need to give her all the love I've been wanting to give her for the past couple of months. To say that time goes fast is an understatement. Each and every single day is more painful for me without my soulmate. Especially after I had finally began to realise that she was my only one. I love Caitlin and I wasn't afraid to tell anyone. The pressure of finding my mate however only grew. My mother didn't hate me, but she did lose the adoration she once had for me. Everyone got along with Caitlin, especially my mother so when she had found out that she was in fact, my true mate and that we had rejected one another, to say that she was annoyed was an understatement. My father was still very demanding. He wanted me to bring back my precious little mate which I will do, but I need to earn her trust at first.
"Sir, we're here." The taxi driver pulled me out of my thoughts as I quickly looked around to see that what I saw was nothing familiar.
"Where are we?" I questioned the slightly older taxi driver as I quickly pulled my seatbelt off, grabbing my wallet out of my jeans' pockets.
"CAE. It's a weird academy, especially since.."
I had quickly intervened, voicing my opinion. "Okay. That's good. But why exactly am I here? My ma-girlfriend wouldn't be here out of all the places in the country, would she now?"
I was hoping he would leave the question asked as a rhetorical one but I was sadly, not lucky enough. "Apparently, there's one girl that goes to this academy. Just one. The rest are men."
And that sparked up my interest. That would be the best place for her to hide, especially since she would doubt that I'd manage to find her. Quickly thanking the taxi driver, I paid him the cash necessary for the journey and quickly got out of the car, grabbing the rose bouquet I had bought for her. I bought a bouquet everyday in hope to find her, but if I couldn't, I'd give those roses away to a stranger just to make their day slightly better.Caitlin's POV:
Today had been a day like every other. There wasn't any real change but my wolf kept yapping in my head. For some reason, Scarlett, that's my wolf's name, was excited about something but she refused to tell me what it was. Shaking the thoughts out of my head and blocking her out since she was slightly getting on my nerves, I walked down the hallways of CAE. Now, instead of telling you my entire backstory, I'll just briefly summarise what has happened in the past couple of months. Once I was accepted and was flew out early, I was given my own dorm. Usually, dorms consisted of two people which seemed to surprise me as I had no one to share with. But the shock of my life made its way when the first day of school started. They had such a prestigious title and that seemed to provide both me and my wolf with some happiness as we were well respected. But the first thing I had seen when I walked into my class was nineteen men staring back at me with their mouths flown open. Once that situation was cleared up, I was told that this school was an all boys school. That's right folks, you heard it here first. I'm in an all boys school. When I questioned why I was placed in this school, I was told that it was all a trial to see whether or not the boys would be able to handle being around girls which none of them knew about. Surprisingly, they have managed to keep their hands to themselves. I mean, the most a boy has done in this school physically was kiss my cheek, but that's because I consider him to be my best friend. That's all there is to say I guess.
The bell rang which snapped me out of the thoughts, well little monologue I just had. Grabbing my bag, I said a quick goodbye to my friends and the teacher, speeding out of the classroom. God, I hate this subject. English. I don't understand why I chose the subject when I had only four subjects to take, I guess it was just because it was considered as one of the core subjects in school and was one of the most respected subjects in school, of course after the science subjects. Boys and science. There's no real correlation between the choices but I guess it's just because society view it as a male subject and English a female one. Damn the gender roles. Walking towards my locker, I almost instantly unlocked it and stuffed my bag inside, closing it and began to walk over to the lunch hall.
Dylan's POV:
Once I took my first step inside the building, I was hit with the most intoxicating scent. It was her. She was here. My wolf was excited and so was I. My heartbeat seemed to speed up as I ignored the receptionist's questions. By the scent, I could tell it was an all werewolf school which the outside world had no clue about. Once someone was exiting the building, the door had opened, quickly taking advantage of the opportunity that I had. I ran inside, the receptionist yelling at me to come back. I followed the intoxicating scent. I wouldn't ever forget it. I wasn't looking at where I was going, so when I felt a smaller figure bump into mine, in an instant, I wrapped my arms around her slender waist. I knew it was her because I felt the sparks and when I looked down, I was greeted by those beautiful brown eyes.
"Caitlin." I whispered.
"Why are you here?" A cold voice responded and that was when I received the biggest shock of my life.
