Chapter 8: I Love You.

Lucy's POV:

Dylan seemed quite off nowadays. I don't know why to be exact but he really did. He hated it when Caitlin was touched by James. This makes me think that something's going on between these two. I mean, they both were acting kinda strange whereas Caitlin was still acting like herself sometimes. But he could be acting like an over protective best friend, I mean, both him and Caitlin were really close once, I remember how she introduced him to me and then after a while, as Dylan and I got closer, Caitlin and him were pushed further apart.

I didn't quite blame myself for it as I know it wasn't my fault but I had to rekindle their friendship. They both understood each other more than I ever understood the both of them. It was almost as if it was a sign or a connection between them that they were destined to be together, as friends.

What's weird though, is that Dylan hasn't found his mate yet. It was his birthday recently and that must have meant that he met his mate unless if he rejected her or if she wasn't in this pack. What if he did reject her though? Just for me? No one deserved to be rejected, especially if she was a soon to be Luna. She was destined to be Luna, and I know for a fact that destiny will infact, break me and Dylan up someday.

Seeing Caitlin happy is always a good sight to see. I feel as if James and Caitlin are almost destined to be together but I know for a fact that if he finds his mate and if she isn't Caitlin, she would automatically let him go, no matter how important he may be to her. That's the quality I liked the most about Caitlin, she's never selfish, she always gives back to everyone, including me. No one would ever be able to reject her, she's perfection in one of the finest forms. She deserves to be loved and cared for.

Once the movie had finished, we saw James and Caitlin cuddling, I found it an adorable sight to see and felt a pang bit of jealousy in my chest. I don't know why, but I feel as if it's because Dylan and I no longer do the same, at least, I'm hoping that that's the reason for why I felt this jealousy .

We got out of the theatre and began to walk. Dylan and I were walking behind Caitlin and James. She didn't seem to stop talking about the movie, her bubbly personality back once again. I turned to look over at Dylan who kept his gaze down. "Hey?" I gently poked his cheek, snapping his gaze towards me as he sent me a smile. The smile I fell in love with.

"Did you enjoy the movie, beautiful?" He glanced over at me, gently squeezing my hand in his as I nodded my head, grinning.
"I loved it." He wasn't himself at all. I know for a fact that something has happened recently and I feel as if it has to do with the events of his birthday. I feel as if he's seen his mate, he's met her, he rejected her but he loves her. No one can stand the pain of rejection, therefore Dylan wouldn't be able to either. He was the Alpha, and Alpha's are very protective of their mates.

Once we got back into the car, Dylan almost instantly brought me onto his lap. He held me protectively and hugged me. The actions he performed were almost my favourite. When he holds me protectively, I feel as if no one can tear our relationship. But I know that someone will, it doesn't matter if it's Dylan's future mate, or my future mate, I know that we won't last for long. One thing's for sure, I'm going to find out what's going on with Dylan.

Caitlin's POV:

I looked in my rearview mirror and saw Dylan cuddling Lucy. I envied their relationship. She got to have the most perfect man around holding her and vice versa. The Moon Goddess obviously made a huge mistake by placing me as a mate to an Alpha. Dylan and I would never happen. We weren't meant to be whereas Lucy and Dylan, now that was a different story. Shee seemed to have Luna qualities, she would care for everyone's safety and health in this pack just like a true Luna shoud. You can see why I think that the Moon Goddess made a huge mistake.

Once James parked the car in front of the Pack house, both Dylan and Lucy had already gotten out, strolling casually towards the Pack house. Once James turned to face me, I quickly leaned forward, attacking his lips with my very own, he quickly responded by wrapping his arms around me and moving his lips in sync with mine. After a while, we both pulled away, gasping for air as I smiled. "Hey James?"

He looked at me and laughed, still slightly out of breath as he responded. "Hey Caitlin."
I gently caressed his cheek as I mumbled the three words which were designed for me to be saying to Dylan but I feel as if there isn't a point in loving him. In trying to fight for him because in the end, he wouldn't want me. "I love you."
"I love you too." He whispered before reattaching our lips together.

Once I managed to finally pull away, I got out of James car, waving him goodbye as he went to park his car in the garage.

I carefully began to trot upstairs, smiling as I hummed. Maybe I can be happy after all.

Once I began to walk down a hallway, a hand grabbed my arm, pulling me into the room, closing and locking the door as they spoke.

"We have to talk." The demanding voice boomed as I nodded my head and shrugged. "Go ahead, talk then." I smirked, resting a hand on my hip as I looked up at the most demanding and pissed off person I had ever seen.
