Chapter 6

Cedric and Hion entered the town. They rode and didn't stop until they got to the Wizards Guild. They stopped at the entrance and Cedric tied Hion to the posts. Cedric walked up to the door and knocked. The door opened and Hugo smiled at him.
"Hello Cedric," he said kindly. "Is everything all right?"
"Hello," Cedric replied." "Everything's all right, but you see, I got some blood from the necromancer-"
"Necromancer! Well, he's dead anyway, right?"
"And I just wanted to do the spell here, since you gave it to me. And yes he's dead, nothin to worry about. So if you don't mind, I'd like to do the spell here."
"Yes Cedric, it's fine, go ahead."
"Thank you Hugo."
Hugo took out a vial and handed it to Cedric. He took out his sword and wiped some of the blood off the blade and into the vial.
"Cedric, you have to drink the blood right after you are done chanting the spell, or else you'll never get you're memory back." Said Hugo.
"Drink the blood?!" Cedric exclaimed.
"Yes, drink it."
"But..... It's blood..."
"Listen okay? When you chant the spell, the blood starts to form your memory's. So you basically just drink your memory's.".
"Ok....."
Cedric took out the scroll and started to read.
"Maheno, dehemo-"
The blood was shaking in the bottle so Cedric uncapped it and put it close to his lips.
"Cameno." Finished Cedric.
He gulped down the blood, which was now gray and showing pictures of Cedric past. He grabbed his throat, and then his head. He fell to the floor, dark memory's flooding back.

Cedric woke up to find Hugo casting healing spells on him. He sat up and held his head.
"Hugo," Cedric said. "I know who I am now..."
Hugo gulped and had a nervous look in his eyes.
"So... You know you're supposed to kill me, assassin." He said.
Cedric nodded.
"I remember now. My parents were killed by bandits and I fled my home. By the time Xavier found me I was huddled up against some tree, covering myself with leaves. I grew up and became an assassin. Even though we were all outsiders to society, I was an outsider to everyone...... Everyone except for Xavier. He treated me like a son and like a friend. He taught me how to fight with a sword and how defend myself without a shield or armor. Then they found out I was a mage. They made me use my powers for evil, they made me summon undead warriors for them and kill innocent people for money."
"A mage," Hugo exclaimed. "I thought mages were wiped off the earth. I thought there were none left. I thought that only magicians, wizards and warlocks were left."
Cedric looked confused.
"What do you mean? What's the difference?"
"You really don't know the history of magic?"
Cedric shook his head.
Hugo sighed.
"You see, Cedric. There was a time on earth where all magic users lived in harmony. But one day, the necromancers, the warlocks and the magicians all teamed up and tried to obtain full magic power. They didn't know that to obtain this power they would destroy the world, so the mages, along side the wizards, put a stop to them. But to do that, the mages had to sacrifice themselves. I thought there were none left, but now you're here..."
"But Hugo, that doesn't answer my question. What's the difference between mages, wizards, magicians and warlocks."
"Oh yeah, sorry. Well, magicians are the weakest type. Even the strongest magician, the leader, could just beat a wizard if they were lucky. They are very innocent and they will follow power.
The wizards are decently strong and they have more common sense. They follow power but only if they know it is good. Two of them could beat an untrained warlock.
The warlocks are the strongest if you don't count the mages. They are very powerful and are very dangerous if you anger them. They are hungry for power and on rare occasions, even kill to get it. They've calmed down a lot these days, but some still do anything to get power.
Anyway, if the magic council finds out about a mage, they'll want to find you and destroy you. For some reason they think mages are evil."
"Well, then I'll just be careful. Now I need to go and find Max, then I need to tell the king about the assassins so he can put a stop to it. Bye, Hugo."
With that, Cedric rushed out of the building.
"Good bye, my king." Whispered Hugo.
Hion ran as fast as he could. He rushed out of town and towards the forest. He ran past the wood shack and stopped at the place where Cedric first woke up at. The mage got off his horse and told it to stay. He walked forwards, drawing his sword, and slashed at the tall grass in front of him.
"Now, it's time to get Max back." Cedric whispered.
He cut down some more grass and, still swinging his sword, walk through his path.

Cedric cut down the last few pieces of grass then sheathed his sword. He stepped out in the open and immediately knew he was in the right place. He was in the town of the assassins which was called, Omega.
Cedric knew he had to find Max, but he also knew that he would have to see some of his old team mates.
As if on cue, his old teammate/rival came walking up to him.
"Hello Cedric." He said with a bit of a sour tone.
"Hello Nathan," Cedric replied. "Good to see you again....."
Nathan was a well built 14 year old who was a bit taller than Cedric and also somewhat stronger. He had sharp brown eyes and brown hair which was spiked at the end that went down to his shoulders. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt under his black cape that ran down his back and had black trousers on that were loose and didn't seem to fit him. They were tucked into black boots.
"So, I'm guessing you're here to get beat by me again." Nathan said flexing his mucles.
"Actually, I need to see Xavier."
"Well Xavier is in a meeting, but to pass the time we should sword fight, he'll probably be out when I win."
Cedric was fed up. Ever since he joined the guild Nathan has been picking on him and calling him weak, though not always directly. Fine, if he wanted a sword fight, then Cedric was gonna give him one.
"Fine,"said Cedric. "I'll fight you."
Nathan grinned and motioned for him to follow him. They ended up on a large dirt path on opposite sides from each other. Already a crowd started to form to see the two rivals face off once more. Nathan drew his sword first. It was an iron short sword but Cedric knew that it was different somehow. It had strange carvings on it and a tiny little bump on the side. Cedric unsheathed his blade and showed it off, expecting people to go wide eyed over it, but they just looked boringly at it.
'Of course people are on his side so they would like his sword better.' Cedric thought.
While Cedric was lost in his thoughts, Nathan charged then swung his sword. Cedric looked up and blocked just in time. The fight had begun.
Cedric charged and sliced but Nathan deflected it with his sword and strikes backed. The blade sliced through Cedric's apron, through his shirt, and made a diagonal cut across Cedric's chest. He howled out in pain and grabbed his chest. At that moment Nathan pointed the butt of his sword at Cedric and pressed the bump ( which was just a button) and a dagger shot out of the bottom of his sword and sailed towards Cedric. But, when the knife was an inch near his chest, a miracle happened. Cedric's body glowed with a golden aura and the knife just bounced off of it. Cedric then literally flew towards Nathan and started slashing out with inhuman speed. Nathan, as surprised as he was, actually blocked half of the slices but got beaten almost to death by the other half. He was on the ground with his sword nowhere to be seen as a golden mage floated towards him. He desperately tried to crawl away but his legs wouldn't work. Cedric came over to him then bent down an whispered something in his ear.
"Don't ever let me see you again you worthless piece of crap. Leave now before I change my mind and kill you."
He gave Nathan a shock then healed his legs and forced him to leave.
The gold energy dispersed and the mage dropped to the ground. As he sheathed his sword he had no idea that he was being watched.
"So," said Xavier." The boy has defeated my son and summoned the golden power. Then lets see how he does against his friend."
And with that he walked out of the room and towards the dungeon.
