The next morning when I woke up it took me a while to remember where I was. I grabbed some clothes from my bag and headed up stairs. The house seemed really quiet when I reached the top of the stairs.
"Dean? Sam? Bobby?" no answer, "Cas?...Anybody?" Well that's unsettling to wake up to. I slowly made my way to the kitchen listening for anything. There were no sounds at all which made my breathing feel a million times louder. I peered around the doorway of the kitchen, no one was there but still I was cautious. I tip-toed in and saw a sticky note on the table.
Rachel,
Sam, Dean, and Cas left earlier this morning. They wanted me to tell you they'll call later. Since you're still sleeping and its 11:30
I looked up at the clock, 12:40
I'm heading to the store to go get stuff. I have some other things I need to do so I don't know when I'll be back. No one should be coming by the house, if anyone tries to get in there is a shot gun in the closet. I come in through the back door so don't shoot me.
,Bobby
I sighed with relief. With that I went up stairs and got in the shower.
After taking a shower I felt a lot better. I was wearing a pair of jeans, a vintage Foreigner shirt with an unbuttoned blue plaid shirt over the top. I had just combed through my wet hair and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water when I heard someone at the front door. No one was supposed to be coming and Bobby goes through the back door. By the sounds coming from the front who ever this was wasn't using a key, they were picking the lock. I dashed to the cabinets and pulled out the first thing I found, a cast iron frying pan. This should work, I thought to myself.
I heard the click of the lock. Holding the pan close to me I pressed myself against the wall near the kitchen door. A single set of foot steps came into the house. They were heavy, like the person had on boots possibly. They were coming towards the kitchen by the sounds of it. My heart was pounding and my muscles were tense. The second that their foot stepped into the doorway I swung. I smacked the stranger right in the face with the frying pan with a battle cry. The intruder dropped like a bag of bricks from the hit.
I peered around the door frame to check if the intruder was knocked out, he was. Carefully I came forward, holding the frying pan out in front of my very tightly. I kicked him with my left foot just to be safe. This guy had a 2 duffel bags with him and based on his appearance he looked like a hunter. I tied him up however just to be safe. He had tousled brown hair and a slight bit of stubble, he was probably 20 or somewhere around there. Who was this guy? I guess I'd just have to wait till he woke up.
About an hour later the stranger came back to consciousness. I had managed to get him into a kitchen chair and tie him to it.
"What the hell?" He said looking at the ropes.
"Who are you?" I asked leaning against the door frame. He looked at me quizzically for a moment.
"Who are you?" he asked back.
"I asked first. What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing," he replied curtly. This was going no where. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a flask Dean had given me. I splashed the guy in the face with the holy water inside of it. Nope not a demon. "What was that for!" he demanded
"I was making sure you weren't a demon." I watched the realization dawn in his brown eyes.
"You're a hunter?" he asked. I nodded.
"Are you?" I asked him back, he too nodded."So what are you doing in Bobby's house?"
"I was coming to do some research and rest. Bobby's like a dad to me." said the guy, "Why are you here? And better yet what did you hit me with?"
"A cast iron frying pan." I said holding it up," I didn't know who you were and Bobby had said no one was supposed to be stopping by so yeah...I'm staying here to figure things out while my dad and uncle are hunting...." I cut myself short. I didn't know this guy or if he was telling the truth.
"So can you untie me yet?" He asked. Just then I heard a key in the back door. That must be Bobby. He came into the kitchen and saw the guy tied to the chair and me leaning against the door frame frying pan in hand.
"What the hell?" He had his arms full of grocery bags, "Bentley? What are you doin' here boy? I thought you were coming in next week?" So his name was Bentley. That's actually a cool name.
"Good security system you got here Bobby. She knocked me out with a frying pan." Bentley said gesturing with his head towards me.
"A frying pan?" Bobby asked turning towards me.
I shrugged," I was here in the kitchen when he was picking your lock and it was the first thing I grabbed." Bobby shook his head at the two of us.
"Rachel, untie him would ya" he said placing his bags on the table, "And both of you come help me with the groceries." After I had untied Bentley we both went and got the groceries. I can't believe I hit this guy with a frying pan, I had always wanted to do that. I felt kinda bad but not really. Once everything was unloaded and put away Bentley and I were formally introduced to each other.
"Rachel," said Bobby," This is Bentley Peircet. Bentley this is Rachel Winchester."
"Wait did you say Winchester?" Bentley asked surprised. Bobby nodded. "As in-"
"Sam and Dean Winchester?" I said, "Yeah, them. Dean's my dad." Bentley looked from me to Bobby and back again.
"Dean Winchester has a daughter. Wow. Never would have seen that coming." he said running his fingers through his hair. Bobby raised an eye brow.
"Really?" his skeptic tone confirmed my Dad's promiscuous past.
"Not like that, more as in he let one slip by-"
"Okay, this is getting weird. Change the subject." I stated, awkwardness setting in.
"So what are you doing here Bentley? You said you were coming next week?" Bobby asked redirecting the conversation.
"I finished that hunt earlier than expected and decided to head straight here. Take a breather for a week or two." Bentley explained. Bobby nodded in understanding. He looked up at the clock it was 6:35.
"Well since you're here, you can help out." said Bobby
"Help out?" Bentley asked, "With what?"
"Help in training me." I said "I've only been doing this for like two months. I'm not all that good."
"You're Dean Winchester's kid and you've only been hunting 2 months? I doubt that." said Bentley
"Bentley, two months ago we didn't know she even existed." said Bobby
"Seriously?" he asked
"Yeah seriously," I replied. After that discussion all three of us made dinner together, nothing speacial I guess, just some spaghetti and meat balls. Then I went down to my room and waited for Dean to call me. I missed the guys and they had only been gone a day. The night drug on and I waited for his number to come on screen.
"Come on Dean, call..." I said to myself. While I waited for the call I practiced drawing warding symbols and devil traps in my sketch book but eventually I got bored and laid awake in bed for hours. Still nothing.
"I'll call him tomorrow...." I said turning over on the mattress. "Good night guys. Where ever you are." but as fate would have it just as I was about to drop of into sleep my phone buzzed. It was Dean. With a tired smile I talked to my dad and then Sam and even Cas for a while before we said good night to each other and went to sleep; a smile on my face.
