"No don't you say it. Don't leave it open like this. Yeah you've left me in the dark with bounding shades of gray. Oh what an ending to heart full of hate." – Riley May – Colour Me A World Of Hate

“Thank you.” I puffed slightly beaming as the crowd clapped and cheered with happiness and light in their face. I watched as other couples stopped talking to clap where those who stood by the bar stopped to cheer and even the flirting females and males spared me the time to smile and clap. All of those beautiful gestures warming me and alighting me more, I felt high and happy, my body light. Bowing my head slightly I puffed a “Thank you.” Again my breath uneven as I spoke through the microphone, the microphone back on its stand.

Getting up I grabbed my stool and steadied my guitar that was slung around my body with a cautious hold to my stool so it was steady. Walking over to the edge of the stage once I’d cleaned up my mess I sat down on the edge of the stage my legs kicking back and forth happily. Grabbing a drink bottle I took a sip and instantly felt replenished as the coolness of the liquid like heaven to me.

I smiled wide at the sight of the people walking over and jumping down I crossed to meet them with a skip and a rather too eager walk, or something I could rather classify as a sprint. I smiled kissing each individually on the cheek as I stood up on the tip of my toes and gave each member of my band and best friends a kiss.

“Hey” I said kissing Chad first as his black hair sat messy on his head his vibrant green eyes shining in the light, the adrenaline fuelling through him just like the rest of us. He beamed at me his eyes holding mine with such warmth and tenderness that the look alone reminded me why he was my best friend. I took the last opportunity to inhale his spicy and yet musky scent as it enriched my senses and caused my excited smile to alter to a dreamy one.

I than kissed my other friends; Lucy, her hair also jet black but her eyes a dull green; I had to lean down to kiss her as she was so short and tiny, and although she looked small in reality she was far from it. Well at least her character was far from small and vulnerable, she was a spit fire and when I was in the need for some laughter and some one bashed for me, she was my overprotective girl.

And last but not least Brent, his extremely dark brown hair was flat on his head and looked wet, his eyes were a shade of grey and he seemed pleased and excited also. And yet although he had a harsh demeanour about him that said the defensive and scary person he was actually an utter softie underneath that chiselled and strong body, and he was my brother in my eyes. No matter what blood said he was my brother.

Our band consisted of me who played the rhythm guitar which meant I wasn’t always needed and Chad played constantly lead followed by Luce on the keyboards/piano and Brent on the drums and all three of them at times played a ploy in the backup vocals.

“Guys you were great, thanks!” I cried happily tucking a loose strand of my blonde hair behind my ear as I jumped and wiggled on the balls of my toes still running on pure adrenaline, like I was high, drunk, on sugar. Either way it was always this moment I loved the most, the moment of being able to get up on the stage and sing my heart out. As always it was the best feeling I’ve ever experienced and I cherished it, it was like experiencing the first breath of life.

Brent wrapped his arm around Luce’s waist “Did you see how wild my solo went?” I beamed as Brent explained from his perspectives the stunned reaction of the crowd by the solo of his on his drums.

I hadn’t noticed his awed response as I was sharing a silent conversation on stage at that time with Chad, my best friend. We had a crazy way of which talking without the need of words and for that I was forever grateful, it made me feel close to someone, it gave me the security and reassurance I always needed that I had all I needed and nothing else was missing.
