-12 Months Later-
“Oh you win again do you?” Chad growled grabbing me around the waist.
I squealed as he pushed me back up onto the ping pong table, my legs falling apart as he stood in between my legs caging me in as I tried wriggling out his arms. “No!” I cried out giggling crazily, everyone around as celebrating out the back of Chad’s house forgotten as I looked up at him breathlessly.
“In trouble.” He teased, each word tapping me on my nose as he grinned broadly back. I squealed in delight as he came down and kissed possessively against and around my ears, softly nipping them making me giggle in laughter as I wiggled and squirmed.
Chad sighed softly, biting down on my lower lip “God you’re adorable.”
I giggled looking up at him innocently “It comes from my dad’s side, he’s part puppy you know?” I asked teasingly, giving him my best puppy dog look with wide eyes and a jutted out lip.
Chad groaned chuckling “You’re killing me baby.”
“Not as much as it’s killing you to be spending the day down here rather than up in your room, right?” I teased back giving him a flirty, bold wink.
Chad chuckled, his eyes blazing up “Don’t tempt me sweet cheeks.”
“Sweet cheeks eh?” I asked, amused.
“Yeah, cause these cheeks” he murmured grabbing my cheeks “are just so damn sweet.” He cried placing big kisses on both my cheeks, kissing me like the French apparently do in greeting.
I giggled “Sometimes I wonder if you’re part puppy too ya know?” I murmured softly as I wiggled and nuzzled my nose up against his “You can be pretty damn adorable yourself.”
“Hey, love birds!” Brent cried out, startling us out of our little world “There’s kids here you know!” he pointed out gesturing over to where Max and Maddie sat just outside the garage by the pool, Maddie grinning goofily and Max pretending to be gagging.
I laughed as I leant in towards Chad, resting my head against his chest as he tucked me under his chin, his arms wrapping tightly around me as I looked at the scene before us. We were celebrating and there was so much we were celebrating about. The whole gang was here, our usual gang that had been hanging out every summer’s day having barbeques out by Chad’s family pool since I could honestly remember. There was Lucy’s family, Brent’s, Chad’s and even my own little family. We were all scattered out everywhere, the man crowded around the barbeque cooking us up a storm with a bottle of beer in hand. The mothers were chatting under the shade of the pool happily, laughing at the men turning our food into charcoal and watching over all the children splashing around and playing in the pool. That just left my band of friends playing ping pong in the garage, the door’s wide open to let the sun and laughter in as we played to the death, that is until Chad and I got so competitive with each other that he chased after me.
Lucy laughed as she curled into Brent’s side watching the kids out by the pool “I’m going to miss this.” She murmured softly.
I nodded as I met her gaze “I know,” I admitted “I can’t believe we’ve really finished school, no more.”
“Thank god.” Chad groaned into the top of my head making me laugh.
Brent nodded just as eagerly “One more Maths test I think I would have gone insane.”
“What do you mean gone?”Luce asked pointedly “I think you studied more than I did.” She teased.
“Shut up.” he mumbled looking embarrassed making me laugh, I didn’t know what it was with guys that made them shy and embarrassed to admit that they actually cared about their grades, it must be some macho kind of thing.
