Chapter 2
"Naruto! How did you get that bruise on your forehead?" A girl with blonde hair tied in four ponytails asked. Her hands rested on her hips as she ignored the arrogant laughter behind her. Blue eyes twitching, she turned to the brunette haired boy who had his arms wrapped around his stomach. A crisp slap was heard, causing the classroom to go silent. The atmosphere becoming dangerously cold. "Na-ru-to, tell me what happened? Did Gaara hurt you?" She sent a pointed glare toward her red haired younger brother who glared back at her, arms crossed. Naruto let out a nervous chuckle.
"N-No, Temari, Gaara didn't hurt me." He replied, trying to calm the two siblings down. "I ran into a pole and he caught me. That's all I promise!" He cried. Temari locked eyes with Naruto, whose eyes softened. A smile spread across her face.
"Why are you so cute?" She cried, wrapping her arms around Naruto, catching him by surprise. "I can't believe that you're still this cute even when you're eighteen!" She gushed. Naruto looked at Gaara with wide blue eyes, asking silently for help. Gaara nodded curtly.
"Temari, Naruto, and I need to go to class." Gaara said. Temari's cheeks puffed out, her hands resting on Naruto's shoulders as she pulled away.
"Ahh! I can't have Naruto for a day?"
Gaara! You're awesome! Naruto thought, relieved. Gaara stared blankly at Temari who smirked at Gaara. She huffed. "Fine, but I'm taking Naruto to school tomorrow. You had your turn."
"Wha—What? I'm not an object, Temari!" Naruto protested. Naruto huffed crossing his arms over his chest. I'm sorry, Naruto. I want Gaara to tell you his feelings already. Naruto's eyes widened for a split moment before they softened. She was trying to get Gaara to confess his feelings.
"Temari, cut the nonsense. We need to go to class." Gaara growled. Temari rolled her eyes. Gaara was too stubborn to even confessing his feelings in front of her even though she could see it in his eyes. Temari sighed.
"Gaara, you're too stubborn. You're just like Sasuke!" Temari gasped, realizing at the last minute, whose name she had said. Gaara and Kankuro sent her looks of shock and annoyance. Naruto stepped forward, then turned to face Temari, meeting her blue eyes. He knew the name. Sasuke was the name of the person in his dreams. What caught him by surprise was that Temari knew who this Sasuke person was. "U-Uh... F-Forget What I said, N-Naruto," She sighed. "I'm sorry." She whispered before knocking the blonde unconscious.
"Why did you do that?" Gaara asked. His eyes narrowed at his sister. Temari sent him a knowing look that made the red head's eyes soften.
"We can't tell him anything yet." Temari looked over at Kankuro and mouthed thank you. To everyone else in the classroom, Gaara and Naruto had already been in their class and Temari and Kankuro were saying their good bye. Kankuro mostly used his ability to control his puppets with his telekinesis. Sometimes he uses strings in order to keep his ability hidden. Gaara frowned as he remembered that there was a possible chance that the war could still be going on. "Gaara, he'll wake up in two minutes, but not remember what I said, however, it's the truth."
"Shut up." Gaara growled. "Wake him up so we can go to cla—," Gaara's eyes widened when he felt a sharp, burning pain wash over his body. Temari and Kankuro frowned.
"So you think you can hide yourselves from your sweet little Naruto, huh?" A voice asked. Temari laid Naruto down on the floor. By now, the class should be going on as normal, while the shield Temari had mentally created around them, quarantining the class from what was about to come. Gaara grunted, as he tried to get up, but he was in too much pain to get up. "You really think you can protect Naruto just by hiding his past?"
