A Slayer's Confidant

Chapter 8

Suigetsu raised an eyebrow as Karin paced back and forth. Her red eyes glistened with wrath. He speculated that she knew Kyuubi would reveal himself along with Sasuke's brother, Itachi Uchiha. "Where is that damn blonde?" She growled out aloud. Gritting her teeth, she continued to pace back and forth. Kabuto still had Temari under his control and Suigetsu was to shape shift himself into a classmate. Thankfully, this time the classmate was a boy and somehow Kabuto had managed to get Naruto's number. Karin beamed at Kabuto for such good work.

Kabuto Yakushi wasn't an ordinary demon. He was once a normal human clouded and stricken with evil. He was at first working with Orochimaru from a distance so that the demon wouldn't kill him until it Kabuto had decided to become a S-class demon and let the snake control him. Kabuto craved a power that Orochimaru had. Surprisingly, Kabuto had the power of necromancy, which was to control the dead and also had the power to manipulate dreams that further explained to going in them and creating nightmares. He had the ability to heal himself and others' wounds as well as regenerate. His abilities became useful to Orochimaru, thus the demon let Kabuto work for him.

To Karin, it was pleasing to know that she wasn't the only one that had been put under Orchimaru's powerful mind control. Then again, she was able to use transportation as well as pain illusion. Her other abilities limited her to be able to identify the abilities of other demons as well as demons slayers. Regular humans had no sort of abilities as that, thus they were mere weaklings to her. She was also able to heal through biting – which explained the bite marks all over her body, the napes of her neck and arms. She rarely used that ability, though. Healing. Her most useful ability was Pain Illusion.  Although, her ability to identify the abilities of others was useful as well. She knew from experience that those around Naruto were powerful. It wasn't obvious.

Nighttime had fallen and midnight as drawing near. Karin wasn't able to sense anyone – there had been no one at the school just yet. Suigetsu sat sucking at the straw, the loud slurps indicated that it was empty. Karin crossed her arms. "What the hell? If they don't get here soon, I might as well kill the girl already!" She barked, her hands on her hips. She turned her head and met the amber gaze of her colleague who had suffered a great deal. There was once a time where they had been a team alongside Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke, however, disbanded the group he had created –Taka – which was still alive but was different now. Each of them had different plans and each of the three had lead the group. There wasn't just one leader.

Karin had many, many reasons for vengeance. She wanted to make Naruko pay for taking Sasuke away from her and she wanted to show Sasuke that Taka could still be together as one. As long as Orochimaru was alive, Sasuke was forever a cursed demon. However, the curse that Orochimaru bestowed upon Sasuke was powerful. It was unable to be broken. Still, it did not matter, Sasuke had fallen for the blonde hunter – and Karin could do nothing but watch him slip away – right from under her fingers.

Naruto will pay for his past life's choices.

"Well, well," Kabuto began, pushing his glasses up. A twisted grin residing on his face. Karin looked at him with one eyebrow raised. Suigetsu grinned as well and that made her even more confused until Kabuto mentioned something else that made her look to where Suigetsu was pointing to with a wide grin and eyes sparkling with excitement. "Looks like you got what you wanted, Lady Karin," Kabuto finished. Crimson eyes met Cerulean orbs – the fiery orbs she stared when she had met Naruko for the first time.

Karin's face abruptly twisted into an expression of pure anger as hatred radiate off her. Naruto frowned deeply, his body beginning to shake from something that was close to sadness. He turned around, hearing a sudden voice call to him. His eyes widened. Maya! It was a classmate – she was hurt in the middle of the road. Naruto ran toward her, ignoring the pleas from Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Gaara, Kankuro, Itachi, and Kyuubi.
